Apiary

Poem

Let me be your apiary.

Uncap me like honeycomb.

Scrape away my protective seal.

Sit by the flickering flames

Tempting the teapot to rumble

While I warm up for you.

Let me infuse your cuppa,

Ease the distress

Clawing up your throat.

Feel me drip sweetness on your lips

And rub wax

Along the cracks

Of your worn out heels.

Allow me to comb through

Every rough and weary ache

Until you feel smooth

And whole

And soothed

Back into your warm glow.

Until you feel like you

Again.
