I see her there.
I see her there.
She's got light erupting around her brown hair,
smiling among a halo of beauty.
She's not smiling for me,
her attention is elsewhere.
But I enjoy it anyway.
I imagine that she's smiling for me,
that we're going to go home together.
I'm going to make her favorite dinner,
she's going to kiss my neck,
she has to get on her tip toes to do it,
and I'm going to tell her not to.
We're going to watch her favorite movie,
together,
and I'm going to ruin it with jokes.
She's going to kick me playfully,
and I'm going to make more popcorn that wont be eaten.
She knows I'm joking when I make fun of her,
she prods me back.
We grow old together,
we have kids.
They leave and it's just us again,
just us and our aging bodies.
I put her favorite movie in,
and ruin it with jokes.
All this I imagine from my front porch,
while she walks by.
