That Night

Yes, I was terrified.

I'll tell you the truth;

I was struck stiff.

I became part of that

Cold concrete ground.

Yes, my pants were wet;

Dripping down my legs,

Pooling onto the earth.

I lost all control

Of my mind and body.

Yes, I was frightened;

Petrified by horror

Because of what I bore witness to

On that unnatural night.
