How Would You Paint Regret?

Poem

How would you paint regret;
what colour would I be?
I wonder how much time
your brush would spend in hues of me.

How much would dissappear;
a speck of orange amongst green?
Imagined and resolved
in a tranquil forest scene.

I doubt that I'd be blue;
that your easel would hold sea.
I know you are no island,
nor I think myself Daphne.

Why must I always wonder?
My mind never leaves things be.
Your tides go but return again,
and I ponder galleries.
