light switch

like a light switch,

i turn it off and on

in my mind, the switch is off

when i see pale skin, eyes drained,

around me i hear weeping

my switch remains off

my face artificial, i reminisce with you

like a light switch, my switch stays off

when im home, looking at eyes that are bright,

shining, flushed faces, around me i hear laughter

i lie in bed, i am soft, i feel warm flesh

like honey, around me my switch turns on

against my will,

my mind is flooded with pale skin,

rigor mortis, families weeping pleading,

eyes that dont look back and i weep
