The Curse of The Empty Box of Letters

Poem

A sneaky son slips inside

his parents’ empty room.

Peeking into private places

preparing to meet his doom.

The curious kid continues,

as he creeps n crawls to plunder.

Digging through his dad’s dresser,

he discovers a drawer of wonder.

Funny folded currencies

from a foreign land,

Jogs him on a journey

as they jumble in his hand.

Nick knacks, pocketknives,

and fascinations to find.

A tarnished ticking time teller

with gears for him to wind.

Buried beneath beyond the booty

hid a wooden box.

A lid with rusty hinges

lacking latches or even locks.

Enticed with English etchings

engraved upon the lid,

Was a written warning

to protect the box that hid.

“PERSONAL, PRIVATE, PLEASE BEWARE”

upon the box it said.

The boy, without batting an eye,

belittled the caution he read.

He lifts the lid to look a little,

Then wide to see it better.

To the sneaky son’s surprise,

was the curse of eleven letters.

The long-lived letters lie

inside the box to this day.

Spoken specific for any scoundrel

that dare to betray.

To skip the spell and spare the scourge,

Now's your chance to leave.

Or doom the devilish curse below

if you dare to deceive.....

!NOSY BASTARD!!<
