Poem for a stranger
You don't know me
I don't know you
I look up and I see
Your eyes have moved too
We do not talk
We do not speak
We just walk
We are weak
I walk down a hall
Your thoughts on my mind
Do your eyes move for all?
Was it some kind of sign?
I get where I'm going
And I start to head back
There's no way of knowing
There's too much I lack
Yet my mind races
What would it be like?
I think of all the places
Of all the sparks we could strike
I think of the feel of your skin
I feel the danger of my thought
I think of the awful din
I feel of lessons long taught
I see you in the side of my eye
The urge to look is too strong
And unless my mind perceived a lie
Your gaze lingered a bit too long
But the moment is over
We proceed with our day
And now I'll think about her
But never what to say.
