Hopefully my old girl will get a new little bro this weekend!

I’m scheduled to adopt this handsome fellow (2 years old) on Saturday, and can’t wait to see him and my sweet old girl (11 years) playing together in his new forever home.

He had to be surrendered by an elderly owner over the summer (whatever happened, it must have been serious and sudden…this dog is incredibly healthy, has had all the correct vet care, and is very well socialized), and we recently had to say goodbye to her best friend and packmate for the last 8 years (ex gf’s dog…we’re still good friends, though, and even after we stopped seeing each other and living together, the dogs saw each other at least weekly…we may have each entered the relationship with a dog, but we also each ended it with two, even if things didn’t romantically work out for us) after she went into severe renal failure.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why he hasn’t long since found a home, but I’m glad to offer him mine.
