Untitled Abstract, 1

Poem

Deep amethyst pool

A trench

The dimensions can't be measured

The dimensions can't be measured

But still

I try to observe it

Deep amethyst pool

A trench

The dimensions fold in on themselves

The dimensions fold in on themselves

But still

I try to understand it

Deep amethyst pool

A trench

The dimensions scar the memory

The dimensions scar the memory

But still

I try to forget it

Deep amethyst pool

A trench

I give in to the labyrinth

I become a heretic to the laws of nature

I remember what you once were

I am baptized in your void

Before drowning

I wash ashore, beached

My viscera expands

It doesn't belong to me anymore

My dimensions warp

The edges of my inside and outside merge and lose definition

I am left a deep amethyst pool

A trench

Maybe someone will give me shape

Maybe someone will give me size

Maybe someone will give me volume

Maybe someone will give me mass

And define my dimensions

I would give anything to be a shallow pond
