Glad for the Double XP, my Sentinel is at Valor 60, and I'm hoping to get him to 100 for the achievements. And I can knock out the PvP season at the same time.

Just remember you need 6037635 total for level 100. Level 87 Valor isn't even half way :D

Good luck! I did the crawl during COVID lockdown. BTW doing levels like 88-100 is the same as doing levels 0-88 so best of luck with the grind friendo (I dont remember the exact number but its something along those lines)!

I'm on SS currently should I move to SF? whats the situation of the economy there is it better? how is the queue times?

Star Forge has about 2-3 times the population of Satele Shan. This population increase allows you to find more items on the GTN and trade along with having much shorter queue times for everything.
Star Forge also tends to stay active more hours than Satele Shan which seems to be active mostly during and around East Coast prime time hours.

I moved my main characters to SF from SS a couple of weeks ago, and I’m really glad I did. Queue times are better, there’s more people on, it’s easier and faster to find groups for pretty much anything on fleet, and there’s more stuff on the GTN.

SF feels enough like 2 months after original launch population compared to SS. If you never played any other server you'd think the game is doing as well as FF XIV.

Unfortunately not.
Unlock sales usually aren't announced more than a few days ahead of time so there's a small chance we'll get one but I wouldn't count on it.

Nice of them to have character transfers on sale; considering the state of the game people looking for somewhat relatively active community can move their main characters off the 3 dead servers (Tulak, Levi, and Satele Shan)

by this time next year we may only have 2 servers. One NA and one EU server.

We already effectively do, Levi has no population, even during prime time there are less than ~300 people online across the entire server. Tulak and SS are slightly more populated but still pretty dead for the most part.
I've always heard that they are required to have a minimum of 5 servers. But if they're smart they'd change it so that new players are automatically put onto DM and SF, while giving incentives for existing SS/Tulak/Levi players to move there as well.
It's a really bad new player experience if they start off on one of the 3 dead servers compared to SF or DM. I don't know why they haven't done that already; the game still puts new players, even if all their settings are in English, onto Leviathan sometimes.

apparently we have a few people who HATE the idea of server merges so much they don't even want to see discussion about it. LOL.

I don’t know why they don’t do one big server? But also I’m on satele and have zero complaints. It never seems as dead as people say it is.

Glad I've been holding on to some valor boosts in Legacy storage. Hopefully those'll be double as usual, too. And hopefully what I've got will let me mostly skip the Forex alert on my next chara. I wonder if there's any indication how long they event will go (I'd expect, also until the 9th after it starts, or only one week, but not sure which). Regardless, 2XP will be nice for making a few new alts I've been thinking of.
As transfers go, I have a rough time with 'em. It may just be me being really OCD, but I get very attached to all the prize mail in my new characters' boxes, and I like being able to open up and see how old the characters are. But on the other hand, this game is really lousy for cross-server play, and I end up with "abandoned" characters and legacies as a result...

I have 2 guilds and 40+ characters on Satele Shan. I'll move around one character just to spread my legacy unlocks (reputation mostly) but I'm not going to abandon 2 guilds and pay an upwards 20k CC.
I already have a few characters on Star Forge so I'm fine waiting until the NA servers are merged. Until then I'll keep logging on getting my daily rewards.

At least a week.
If they don't announce an end date we just have to wait until it's active. The XP bar ingame always shows how long it lasts.

Pricey, but certainly more doable. I have extra level 80 characters I need off of Star Forge (mostly because I'm addicted to leveling new Agents)...

Extra characters are extra; I keep running into the Weekly commendation cap before the weekend.

I already play on both DM (I had Euro friends who played on Red Eclipse, back in the day) and SF. Back around the start of this year, I started playing on SS as well, by transferring a character over from SF to establish my legacy there; some of that was because SF was starting to feel a little crowded with my alts, but mostly it was so I could farm extra CC via Galactic Seasons. Now, however, Bioware has pretty much nerfed that into the ground... so while I've met a few people I like on SS, I may soon have a decision to make. :|

I think in a year we may have just one NA server. Every time I remember Bioware putting server transfers on sale a server merge happened afterwards.

Besides moving characters from other servers to Star Forge, now's your chance to transfer characters with credits onto other servers you don't play in, in case you'd like to reap a large amount of the GS3 rewards, only with credits!

Why would you need x2 XP in this game? I'm not even in ch 3 and I'm level 65

because people hit 70(?) then skip the story and keep grinding to 80. When you have 40-50 characters the story doesn't really add much to the game play loop.

Boredom through a 10 year period. Mostly I like to design characters so each character has their own look and outfits.

Like illgot says, it gets boring and tedious after your 4th run through the story. You just wanna endgame.
