Help with proper naming protocol.

I am currently engaged in a heated discussion (read: argument) with a few of my friends, because I believe that my jeep, like all cars, boats, and planes, needs a female name, while they believe (with good reason) that jeeps are too masculine for feminine names.

So my question is this: should my jeep have a female name, and if so, what would a good one be? The only names my friends and I have come up with are Helga and Daisy (and a third, some play on flowers and yellow, the color of my jeep, but I've already wiped that one from memory).

Here it goes. Let the name come to you, it will come. Last time there was a post like this someone made the comment that it took them almost 2 years to find the name that fit there jeep.a name will come to you.

See, but I have no ideas, so I'm starting to second guess whether jeeps are truly female.

This could take a while. See, in order to get a pic off my phone, I'd have to upload it from phone to the internet, download on my computer, then upload to imgur (I/O's are fucked when it's tethered, too lazy to fix it properly)

In the meantime, imagine a practically stock, bright yellow 2002 sport, with the top almost never on (I took the top off the first day I got it, haven't put it back on since), Micro FF hella lights (put on by the previous owner, they're dim as fuck, so I don't really see a point.) on the front bumper, a SAR magnet on the driver's side door, uncovered rear tire, and soon to be custom plates with my hamcall.

Well all 9 jeeps that belong to my family have female names. As my father is TheJeepGuyOnline.com he is obsessed with and very much in love with jeeps. I too have developed a passion for jeeps and although my jeep is a '88 jeep Cherokee Larado I call her the silver bullet. My moms is Isabella. And my fathers '97 TJ is Betsy.

Tl;dr: all the jeeps we own have female names: Betsy, and isabella, among others.

My jeeps name is Donna. A friend and I were watching 'That 70's Show' one night shortly after I bought my jeep. I have a thing for gingers. It stuck. I keep saying I am going to get a pic of Donna and Donna together and put it in the jeep permanent like.

I agree with the female name thing. Unless you are a chick its kinda weird to be saying dirty dave vs dirty donna. Or oh dave you are so dirty, lets get you wet and clean you up a bit. etc etc. It is up to you though man its your jeep.

I call my yj a girl, but her name is bolt-on. Sometimes bolt for short, mostly for the irony of the 4 cylinder. XD.

Edit: though if I'm mad at the Jeep, I'll call her stilts. For a while i had a 9.5" lift on 32" tires, so it's mostly a vain attempt too make my inanimate car feel bad.

Just my rock crawling club teasing me for buying bolt on, pre made parts instead of making things. Learned my lesson though.

Ah. Any tips for fabricating parts? I'd love to learn to work with metal, and I have a good deal of experience with CAD, but have almost no tools at my disposal.
