Programming jobs in California

Hey Guys, I am looking to pick up a job in California (I'm in PA). I have a CS degree, and am somewhat skilled in programming C#. I have a few years experience. Can anyone recommend any good tech companies to apply to? I'd like somewhere in southern CA, but I am open to northern CA. Any tips for the transition?

Indeed is a decent starting point for a search. Craigslist is good for SF Bay area jobs. I keep my LinkedIn profile updated, and get one or two recruiters to contact me each week.

C# is pretty underutilized in the bay area, but there are some healthcare related companies and startups using it. Try ModelN in the bay area, and tell them dixie_recht sent you.

Will do, and thanks.

Have you tried the usual job posting sites like monster or indeed? I would also utilize your university network. But seeing that CS is a highly sought-after degree, I can't imagine you having a too difficult time finding employment

I have in times past used Monster, but found it lacking. I'm thinking that I'd like to apply directly to various companies this time around, especially smaller ones in CA that I may not know about, but other redditors may.

As for my universities network, perhaps I could find ask an alum; the internal jobs network, itself, needs a little help.

Make sure to also look into the hidden job market. A good search would easily tell you more about that.
