visual voicemail frustrations

Onboarded last night on a Pixel 5a from Google Fi. Everything in the transfer went smoothly except transitioning to the US Mobile visual voicemail. From all I've read, most pixel phones allow US Mobile Visual Voicemail in the native app. For whatever reason I cannot seem to get it activated. I have a "Visual Voicemail isn't working, call your voicemail" message on the native app. Calling doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone have ideas? I'm on the GSM LTE network because the 5a doesn't support super LTE.

Yes, your visual voicemail should work through the native app. However, this may be related to the device configuration. Please drop me a DM with your details, and I will take a look. 😊

When I transferred my number I had the same issue as you, did a quick chat with support and they were able to fix on the backend.

Can't get mine working on my 3XL either. If you figure it out, let me know! Miss that feature!!!

Try changing VVM PIN from the settings and wait

Turn off private DNS setting before above

Won't let me change the vvm password. It says it's still activating and grays out the option to change the password.

I have the same issue with T-Mobile or any T-Mobile MVNO (other than Google Fi) on my Sony Xperia devices, which like the Pixel have voicemail integrated into the factory-installed Google dialer.

It works fine on AT&T + MVNOs, with an option for text transcriptions as well.

It also works fine on Verizon + MVNOs including USM, but text transcription is done on the backend only if you have Verizon's "Premium Voicemail" feature. (There's no option on the phone).

The workaround for T-Mobile is to use their on VVM app. That does not work for MVNOs though. Perhaps it just has to be enabled on a per-account basis.

Support said it was a known problem and that my only recourse right now is to use a third party app like My Visual Voicemail. Sadly, I'll probably port out and try Redpocket.
