Looks like they re-added the “Video Record” button with this version.

It's about time. That was my biggest complaint. Because the release notes actually say that the buttons supposed to be there in the previous iteration but surprisingly missing.

7
Demgreenstuff•

I had no idea it was actually supposed to be there! I thought that maybe cause of the wide release they only allowed select people who could be trusted to not overload on reports to have the button. Glad to hear we get it back! There's so many things I need to send for improvement.

1
RGressick•

That's what I was wondering about too but it very clearly says in the current release notes that it's supposed to be there. But then again there's so many undocumented changes in features that I'm surprised at Tesla hasn't had lawsuits about that specifically. Because when you think about it, if Tesla's pushing it update to your vehicle, and the release notes only indicates certain things. But they made other various changes to the behavior of how the vehicle operates but does not tell the end user, that's some liability back on Tesla in case some incident occurs because of that change. For example, breaking behavior whether it is breaking distance or autopilot aggressiveness on breaking, both are changes of behavior that may not have been documented in the release notes which is not uncommon. That can also include things to lighting behavior or wiper blade behavior or just autopilot in general. Does not exclude even UI behavior because of the UI is freezing or not reporting correct information or items are moved or missing from where you expected them to be this entire time, can cause a safety issue.

kind of liked not having it

Icy_Slice•

Why? As a beta tester, you are supposed to use that to send feedback so the software can get even better over time.

EDIT: typo

Same. I don’t know how often reports get addressed, but I always used it for problematic areas (my car loves to slam on the brakes at a Y intersection where only one half of the split has a stop sign but the main road does not.. and the fact it wants to YEET over the speed bumps in my condo complex because they’re painted white not yellow).

9
Firehed•

I’ve been especially missing it this version as it’s been regressions all around for me. Even some of the old auto-wipers issues have resurfaced!

"beta taster"

I love it!

6
Hug_the_Curve•

I always thought it was too small and really in a bad place. We should be able to double tap anywhere on the visualization to do a capture rather than find that button.

cynically I thought they removed it because so many new to FSD were using it

2
TMB8616•

We have missed it.

1
MagicHoops3•

Is this the Christmas update variant for FSD beta people?

16
gmanist1000•

Nope

15
Kimorin•

man they need to rebase main branch more frequently...

27
SpikeX•

While I totally agree with you, it's probably gonna be a while for this one... they moved the music player, which used to be on the right and is now on the left, which had special code added to it for FSD (if you're in fullscreen FSD and you swipe up music, FSD exits fullscreen, as one example) - so they have a lot of work to do to make sure that everything that the main UI team added in the main branch is compatible with all of the FSD extras.

13
Kimorin•

Yeah i said that partly in jest... I definitely don't think it's as easy as my comment may have made it sound.... Would be nice though haha

8
davispw•

No, but it’s still a nice Christmas present for those who had already installed 2022.40.x and were stuck waiting after joining FSD Beta.

FunkyTanggOP•

Look like FSDb holiday update will be 2022.44.25.5.

My M3 is currently running 2022.40.4.2. It has downloaded 2022.44.2 but I haven’t clicked install yet. If I subscribe to FSD beta, will this FSD version get downloaded and replace the current update already downloaded but not yet installed?

11
FunkyTanggOP•

This was my situation. Had 44.2 downloaded but not installed. Opted in to the beta. Today it asked to download the beta 40.4.10.

15
mlancer•

Thank you 🙏

2
pjax_•

Does anyone know if you will get FSDb if you have 44.2 installed?

1
FunkyTanggOP•

I kept my public version at .40 so I could pickup the everybody FSDb that’s also at .40.

Yes.

You will not get it. You can not go backwards.

1
pjax_•

I'm not talking about going back. I just have not seen anyone confirm that 44.X will not get FSDb. Instead we have people speculating that v11 is going along with the Holiday Update.

Just had the same happen to me

Now downloading to a mere mortal

6
bastion_xx•

Just got it myself. 2019 MS. Took 45-50 minutes to complete.

You can get rid of the blue dot if you go through all the other options in addition to the inbox. Was driving me crazy.

5
philupandgo•

What does the blue dot mean - new app update available, new options in the current version, noob user warning?

3
donsqeadle•

New message.

Just wanted to check-in since the post above is archived, how have the Continentals DWS tires turned out so far?

1
donsqeadle•

Greetings Captain Youranus.

The DWS is still my favorite .

The ramp-up to steady state tire grip in a turn feels better in the DWS. The vredesteins are quieter. Not much to comment about the wet weather performance, living in southern droughtifornia.

Visually the DWS looks more sporty, the vredesteins are more casual

I’m going back to continental DWS after these Vredesteins.

SpellingJenius•

Thank you - it was driving me crazy too.

Running 2022.44.25.1 on the S and 2022.44.2 on the Y…. Upgrade faster!

5
Sp_ru•

I wonder if it fixes the over exuberant turn signaling at every intersection when not turning…

5
Bmcmullen87•

My “software is up to date” has been stuck/won’t refresh since yesterday and I’m waiting for this update :(

4
tootwrangler•

Only updates once every 24 hours now

4
elmexiken•

Same, it's actually refreshing in the background, don't worry about that.

Bug fixes.

3
Navets2020•

So for those who want FSD beta, do we install this or not? I’m currently on 2022.40.4.2 and still waiting in the beta. MY7

2
FunkyTanggOP•

Stay on a .40 release and opt into the beta is how I was able to download the FSDb.

3
illawgical•

I just installed 2022.40.4.10 on my 2018 MX and was able to enable FSD from the autopilot menu.

2
SleepEatLift•

This is for FSD.

1
Navets2020•

Yup just this does have FSD

1
tgstellar•

Should I stop upgrading to new software versions if I want FSD beta? It was on .36 when I was on .40, now it’s on .40 and I’m on .44.

2
FunkyTanggOP•

If you want the FSDb just stick to .44 and wait for them to release a .44 beta.

3
SpikedBladeRunner•

Yes, you would have never got it because you kept playing keep away. Stop updating until it catches up.

I just got mine.

1
BananaKuma•

What percent of the fleet gets updates immediately? I’m not getting it. Usually how long does it take to roll out?

1
FunkyTanggOP•

My Y usually gets an new update when the TeslaFi updates per day hit 1000. It was strange that the beta was available today with only 200+ TeslaFi downloads.

https://www.teslafi.com/firmware

5
davispw•

It takes 2-4 days to completely roll out once they start pushing it broadly, assuming no major bugs found. It seems like they do something like .1% (original beta testers only), then 1%, 10%, 50%, 100%. My guesses based on rough numbers from last time.

3
ultimaron•

Nice Mine is at 2022.44.2 , FSD peeps are catchin up lol. My buddy has FSD "beta" complains all the time it's further behind.
