At the club level, he's pretty much become a CB. And a damn fine one at that, too.

They trust Bartra will be able to perform well. But I think we should have got some CB.

Why wasn't one signed two - three seasons ago, when it was only slightly less urgent than now, even? One of the great mysteries of our time.

I think we may need to invest in a CB over the winter window based on how the Bartra-Masche rotation works out.

Mascherano has been looking rather shaky back there at the center half.... the young guys are wingers. Fontas can step up in time (but not soon enough like we need him to). Puyol's career is at an end...it's clear to me. He's had his great run for Barcelona in the past, but his time is quickly coming to an end as a formidable starting CB. Pique is another player that worries me too. He looks like he hates being in defense which is why he's always caught out. I'm betting Tito pushes Song back into the CB role, Masch to DM and Sergio back to CB again. I don't like that idea, but if you have anything better, then I'd be all for it (not to say that I get the final say at what happens at Barca...just speaking from how I would handle the situation..lol).
We're doing well though...can't complain with having won all our games this La Liga season. Spartak on Wed. will be a real test for us, I think. Can't wait to watch the game though.

Even if Song becomes a CB, why would Masch and Sergip switch? That doesn't make any sense. Masch is a better CB than Sergio, and Sergio is a world better at DM than Masch.

Like I said...seeing as how Mascherano has been rather shaky at his current position, I would move him up to DM. Sergio is a bit more calm and collected than Masch... I'm just thinking, why not switch it up for a game or two... that's all. We do need some reinforcements for our defense... our CB's are waaaaay too slow to keep up with a counterattack.

I agree Masch is shaky, but why do you think Sergio would be good at CB? We've done that as a stopgap measure before and it didn't go that well. Sergio is much slower than Masch.

True, true. It would more than likely end up the same as was tried before. No Sergio for CB then. lol
Do you think we should've splashed the cash for Javi Martinez? Or do you think there's a better option out there waiting to be discovered?
