Guess that it's not by toggling FAon in a desperate attempt to brake then turn, after all. 😉
I think you know the answer to that! 🤣🤣
What would be the g-forces of something stopping from 700m/s in under a second?
greater than 70 g. About as much as I take when my wife kicks my butt for hooning instead of walking the dog.
Have you seen that clip in the expanse where the belter hits the ring gate at full speed?
Now this is canyon racing!
Now try spinning; that's a neat trick!
Anyone know any good canyon racing spots like this near the bubble? I've been wanting to try in my 700+ m/s Imperial Eagle but couldn't find any planets with mountains like this. I'm in Odyssey btw, so planet terrain generation is different.
There aren't any. Only Legacy Horizons for this kinda terrain.
Also, protip: ditch the imp Eagle for a real Eagle. Flies and races a shit ton better. The imp is awful.
Really? Is it the turn radius? Cause I know for certain the Imperial Eagle is faster in a straight line
Combination of factors. Sure, it eventually goes fast, but it's acceleration is so bad, it takes far longer to do so than every other small ship. Also because of that weak acceleration, it can't revector well with its vert /lat thrusters, so it can't turn well. And cos its only got a class 2 power distro... It runs out of boost fast, and it has to waste boosts too cos if that weak acceleration.
In summary.. Its shit for racing and hooning.
People think its good because the speed looks good, and lots of YouTube misinformation from people who don't know any better.
Best thing about it is you can strip it and use all the parts you already engineered on a real Eagle. A little less pretty maybe, but a whole load better for everything else.
Fair point. Even though I somewhat disagree with the acceleration being bad (while boosting at least), I have to agree with the revectoring being on the weaker side. And yeah, the distro is just a little weak, even with heavy engineering... I'll give the regular eagle a shot. Though let's be honest: the Imperial Eagle easily wins in the looks department.

How do you turn off your entire HUD like this?
Ctrl Alt G
Great manouvering. To learn that skill is in the list.
My man playing TopGun shit in Elite. You're a damn fine pilot.
Could you imagine the amount of Gs the pilot would have experienced doing that maneuver?
What ship is this?
Eagle
Well technically the yaw turn took about 5 seconds, the revectoring was linear boost acceleration. But then again, technically your turn radius was zero, can't top that. Cheers! Keep flying unsafe and happy rebuys!
Most of that yaw was redundancy from the previous corner then I squeezed it a bit more while I was thinking about what to do...🤣🤣🤣
