I’m currently a supervisor for a pre-employment background check company in TX. Licensed through my employer and basically my job duties along with supervising a couple departments range from Quality Assurance on our reporting, case research, credential verifications, ID tracing, setting up accounts / background checks for our clients (IE They give me their compliance list for job candidates and we set up an applicable package), and a load of other ancillary tasks related to pre-employment screening.

My pay has been stagnant for the past couple years at 60k and I’m wondering what is the prospective career outlook here? I’ve been with this company for about 9 years and been promoted a few t

What a crazy time it’s been. Ever since my uncle died of a heart attack back in November (38 years old from drug use, I’m 33) I had been overcome by terrible anxiety and finally got medicated in January when breathing techniques and herbal teas weren’t cutting it. Been taking 10mg since.

After 6 weeks I haven’t really had any panic attacks, but still was stuck with the lingering dread here and there. I still wasn’t leaving the house (I work from home) and was pretty sedentary thinking “I just need the rest”. Wrong!

Decided to buy an Apple Watch to get a track of my fitness and for about two weeks now I’ve been consistently walking outside, 3 times a day around 10 minutes each session duri

Currently on day 10 of this journey. I had a couple random panic attacks last year that started to become a daily occurrence after a family member of mine died in November. My uncle died of while walking outside due to a heart attack and well, Health anxiety is fun…

After trying for a month to handle it naturally, quit caffeine, trying to move around more, better sleep habits, with not the best results (Panic attacks lessened but I was still VERY anxious about..well..having another panic attack and then I had a rough one 12 days ago) I went to an urgent care clinic, had all my vitals checked which were good, and got prescribed. 10mg which will increase to 20mg after the first month.

Maybe just a bit of a rant.

Quick little backstory - BM and I have one bio kid 7, and then BM has an arrangement with Dad who literally lives on the opposite side of the country. School year with us, breaks with dad. SD used to do the school year with dad until 2 years ago she broke down during a visit saying she missed her younger sibling and had no friends back home. (We learned later there were a lot of behavioral issues that included violence in the classroom, screaming, etc - the kid basically ostracized themselves and needed a fresh start).

Here we are 2 years later and I feel we’ve had major improvements with behavior. Screen time has been limited in line with the younger sibling,

Live in DFW TX. I currently work a full time job (salaried) that pays $60k/yr. Hourly this boils down to ~$28hr.

This is a remote job where I’m a supervisor, but at any moment depending on hiring I can be called into office for training employees which is an hour commute away.

I have a wife and children and this setup has made it impossible for the wife to keep sustainable employment, so for the past 4-5 months we’ve been a single income household. Currently only have 1 car to make matters even tighter. The benefits are trash so I don’t even get insurance.

I’m a bit disillusioned with the unexpected commuting and no overtime pay for salaried workers. I’ve been at this company for 8 yea

I’ve been dealing with roaches for years and in that whole time I’ve felt like Sisyphus rolling the boulder uphill. So many spring cleanings, spreading DME, glue traps with coffee grounds, countless cans of spray, moving to escape and discovering yet another roach corpse from previous tenants and repeat. I had gotten to the point where I would see a roach and it felt normal. Ruined electronics, ruined books, and it felt like nothing was making a dent.

A month ago I hear about Advion, see it’s reasonable priced and think “yeah, let’s try that”. 25 bucks for 4 tubes.

Holy Sh*t

One good house cleaning and a treatment in every room and the difference has been monumental. For the first week

See title.

Currently 31 years old, live in the DFW Texas area and my current salary is 60k a year, with a 1-2% raise every year. The money has been decent but it’s apparent when looking for other jobs that offer higher pay that my lack of a degree is stifling and networking has only gotten me so far.

I have a host of college credits before I dropped out of school 10 years back pursuing a music degree and have about 80 credit hours or so, mix of the core classes and major specific instruction, and exploring online programs at local colleges the mAccounting route seems like it may be a good fit plus from what I’m reading my previous major may help count towards the 150 hours needed for CP

To put my current career in context, I'm currently a "Supervisor" at a small private investigation company in TX (20 or so employees usually) that primarily does background checks for pre-employment screenings. 31 years old, I don't have a degree (attended school for about 2 1/2 years to study music/teaching and dropped out about 10 years ago), and I currently make 58k yearly (last raise was in May 2022).

I put Supervisor in quotes mainly because I wear a lot of different hats for the company and while my main title implies I supervise a part of our operations, I'm responsible for other items such as conducting criminal background investigations, performing customer service updates to our

I’m on my 2nd real run of Keto, hitting a month here in a few days. I previously had a successful run about 9 years ago where I lost 80+ pounds and was able to maintain it well for a couple years.

Since then though, I’ve had children, experienced a pandemic, and transitioned to a W4H job and a lot of that weight has returned 😅

I would try to get back into Keto but always fell off after a couple weeks, but in those times would obsessively step on the scale multiple times a day and just feel bad about myself in the process.

This time around, I’ve measured various spots of my body the day I started with measuring tape, waited a few weeks, and then measured again. Seeing those inches shrink
