Finally happy with my digital streaming, just got bluesound node, I've been using tv app to avr to stream but sounded lifeless, next got a Yamaha dedicated hirez streamer, it was better but vinyl still much better in terms of base sound stage and instruments separation. The bluesound changed my perception of digital, I'm using Amazon music and the dynamics, base soundstage everything is excellent, I might even go as far to say a lot of music is better than vinyl.I have almost 300 of my favorite albums on vinyl.Maybe I can save some money now and lay off on physical media for a bit.I dont know why the change is so dramatic, it must be the dac in the node.People say dacs dont make a difference,

Setting up second listening room, got harman kardon pm645 amplifier and wharfedale diamond 230 speakers with Yamaha streamer, my dealer is getting a rega rp1 as a trade and said I could get for 300 cdn, comes with the carbon cartridge but I've got a grado silver I can throw on it.Im a machinist and have a p3 always had the itch to modify but it sounds great already, anyway now I've got the rp1 I can play with, its got antiskate which is great,I want to build some sort of vta adjustment and make a new platter,my question is what material would be best for platter,I was thinking aluminum or acrylic with the same bracing as the p3,any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated.

Hi everyone I've been upgrading this past year. Started with the rega line,p1,p2,now p3.Then saw excellent deal on evo 4.4 speakers .The combination sounded great the soundstage opened up .All this was running through Yamaha av reciever and all the reviewers said you need a 2 channel amplifier to really bring out the magic. So again found deal on a cyrus one and again soundstage opened up a bit more and the base mids and highs just seemed crisper. Then the other day asked my hifi guy about the exact cartridge for my rega, and again got a great deal .So I just hooked up the new cartridge and put on a reissue of james taylor greatest hits, and that's when it happened, I've heard that record numero

Lately about half of new records I've purchased from amazon reissues have had to send back because warped too bad. My father died recently and I went through the stuff he had stored for years ,a lot of my old records I forgot about from early 70,s stored in a basement. I've found about 100 and gone through them all in excellent condition flat as flat can be and sound perfect. Were records made better in the day?
