I have a Segal single cylinder deadbolt lock on my front door and the thumb turn knob on the interior of the door is very loose. I can still get the lock to engage and the key operates the bolt just fine, but I am worried that the knob might disengage and I won't be able to open the lock.
I took the deadbolt off the door and looked inside the deadbolt. Everything is covered by metal and I am afraid to open it up in case I can't get it back together. Any ideas on if the thumb turn knob can be tightened or should I just get a new lock? I can't find any good diagrams online of how the thumb turn is connected to the casing.
I have worn my RGP for 3 years in my left eye only. Right eye is fine. Fit and comfort have never really been an issue.
Only problem I am having occasionally is that if I blink wrong or twitch my eye the wrong way, the RGP will just pop out! Anyone ever have this issue? I have discussed with my doctor, he says that my scar tissue keeps me from getting a perfect fit.
The damn thing pops out at the most inopportune times and I have had to buy a few replacements over the years. Just frustrated and trying to figure out alternatives.
What CAD programs are engineers using for the oil and gas industry? Everything from overall plant layout, equipment, piping, etc. What about offshore rigs? Our office is looking for a 3D solution, above and beyond AutoCAD. Any suggestions?
My office is looking into purchasing Comsol to do some heat transfer/ fluid dynamics analysis. I saw a few comments online that Comsol isn't great for real world problems and is best suited for research/ academics.
Does anyone have experience with Comsol? How is it different than Ansys/ Fluent?
We have done CFD analysis in the past with a consultant using Ansys and he made it seem like it was "the most difficult/ technical program in the world". (Although that may have been to justify his delays/ poor performance).
I got a lot of Amazon gift cards for Christmas and was hoping to use them to buy the Anova. It seems that they used to sell on Amazon but do not at this time. Anyone know if they plan to be back on Amazon? Or should I just buy from the site?
I was gifted a box of assorted hot peppers and I decided to make hot pepper jelly with them. I read online about pectin and canning but I didn't have all the stuff on hand so I decided I needed another method.
I chopped up the peppers, threw them in a small saucepan, added apple cider vinegar, apple cider and sugar. I cooked this down until it was a thick syrup. I put it in a jar, cooled it down and put it in the fridge. I checked it this morning and it came out great! Slightly thick and quite spicy.
My question is what caused it to get thick and jelly? Does apple cider contain pectin? I know you need an acidic environment with a large percentage of solids in order to get pectin to gel, so
I read an article in the NY Times this week about bitcoin and they mentioned that some online sportsbooks deal in bitcoin (I am guessing for the "anonymous" factor, although it seems like bitcoin is not fully anonymous.)
Does anybody use a bitcoin sportsbook? What are the advantages/ disadvantages? It seems like wading into the bitcoin market adds another layer of risk to the wagering process.
Anyone have an extra black, yellow or white Cash permit for the game this weekend?
Apparently all surface lots, even the cash lots require permits. The only place I can park without a cash permit is the garages which will be no fun for tailgating.
I'm not going to the game itself, just trying to tailgate with some friends.
I graduated school in the spring and am trying to decide between pursuing an HVAC design position or an energy engineering position. (By energy engineering I mean audits, commissioning and retrofits etc)
Just wanted to hear some opinions on what engineers in those fields think in relation to the technical rigor, the overall experience and any other thoughts you have.
In my mind, it certainly helps to know both, and that's what I would love to do, but from the job listings that I have seen, you have to pick one!
So I am graduating this semester with a BS in Mech Eng and through a series of stupid events on my part, the job I thought I would have did not materialize.
After thinking about it for a little, I realized that I actually like school and academics very much so maybe a Masters would be appropriate for me.
Of course the thesis option scares the living hell out of me since I have never done any research before and everyone I hear talking about their thesis hates their life.
Is there any merit to a non thesis masters? Or should you go all of the way? Any other advice?
The Trumpster said that you guys have some good information on Obama's birth certificate.
