Hey ya’ll.

Currently have a 2021 MacBook Pro from my old employer. Not sure on the exact model but it doesn’t support 2 external display. Which is no good for me.

Few things - I will predominantly be using it plugged in to 2 monitors with the lid shut. Occasional on the go work disconnected.

I work in e-commerce, and mainly work in chrome with 1,000 tabs open (guilty) excel with 1,000 tabs open and photoshop with you guessed it. Tabs.

This MacBooks gotta go as I need 2 screens and it’s clunky and driving me bonkers. I want something lightening fast! That can also handle all my bad habits of tab hoarding.

I do use photoshop on the daily for project photography/design projects.

Hey guys,

I’ve completed 3 subjects of my MSW (Masters of Social Work) but pulled the pin a few years back due to some health issues I ran into. I’m now ready to go back and continue pursuing my career in health.

I’ve been told by many people not to continue the SW degree and pursue the masters (RN) in nursing instead. Both are 2 years, but obviously the social work degree will be slightly shorter as I’ve completely 3 units, the MSW requires 1,000 hours of placement and nursing 800ish hours - but this isn’t a huge deal for me, it has to be done and I’ve saved accordingly.

Has anyone worked in their career as a social worker and a nurse at different times? I’d love to hear the actually rea

Hey all,

With the cost of living on everyone’s lips right now, living completely debt free seems more appealing to me than ever. I understand many people leverage and buy buy buy, but I’m the type of person to sleep better at night living with no debts.

I’ve got a house worth about 1.3-1.4M, 310K owing on the mortgage. Our place also has a tonne of yard work, which quite frankly, I’m tired of.

Has anyone sold their PPOR and purchased a townhouse?

My main concerns are of course regretting the growth in value down the track (we’re across from a park in a very sought after street) and the fact I have a small daughter who would soon be playing in that park. The upsides, not paying the bank

Hey Mates, sorry wasn’t really able to find a community with any strong numbers, so thought I’d just ask the whole of Australia. Has anyone completed this course? I realise it’s a sector with huge growth potential and I’m someone who actually wants to make a difference.

It says 12 months study, but I’m assuming a cert 3 could be finished MUCH faster. For anyone who has completed it, is that true? Also, would this be the best path for someone wanting to work with an organisation to get some experience up, then start my own small business with multiple support clients?

Thank you kindly, look forward to connecting with any of you fine support workers!

Cheers.

Hi all,

I understand there is a high burnout rate and have spoken to many nurses about the nature of their work, what I’m most interested is in job security moving forward (bit of drama in this department going back).

I have a new little baby girl (5 months - Father to the girl, so less hands on than mum at this stage, although still do as much as I can) and I’m a bit concerned about how difficult the study actually is?

My background is in business (so that study is quite simple….) and I’m a bit nervous to jump into this course which I’m assuming is heavily based around sciences. The particular course I got into cuts off 1 year, so it’s 3 years jammed into 2.

Has anyone done this part

Hey all,

Not sure the best group to put this in, so I thought I’d pop it in my good old life-long home town of Brisbane!

I’m looking at doing my masters in nursing (I don’t have a nursing background, business/marketing has been my thing, however I’m looking for a career change).

So this will be a whole new ball game, and QUT offer a masters program I was accepted in to (didn’t actually think I’d be accepted!) to study a nursing masters and become an RN (Registered Nurse) in 2 years if completed full time.

But - I’ve also just had a new baby (well, my wife did, I’m the husband/Dad in this situation).

Has anyone studied a masters program or relatively tough uni degree (the business pro

Nurses - help!

Can you help me?

Hey all,

I’m 37 and have a long career in marketing and business and that whole world. For years I’ve been wanting to get into health care (when studying business I worked in a pharmacy in a hospital delivering medications for 4 years) and have spent time In hospital myself due to some health complications.

I’m wanting to swap careers and get into nursing. I’ve actually been accepted into studying RN’s (2 years full time and can be registered), however I’m taking a year before making the call as I’ve just had a baby.

My question for nurses in the know how - I understand I have to do 800+ hours placement, but I won’t have any other experience on my CV.

How hard would it likely be for me t

Hey guys :)

I’m on an injection called Buvidal, an Australian version of Sublocade.

I’ve had 3 x 64mg shots of Buvidal, and figure this is the closest relevant sub-reddit I’ll be able to find (the Buvidal sub doesn’t get much action).

I’ve decided I’ll stop now. It’s been 30 days since my last shot and I’m feeling some things like extreme tiredness, some anxiety etc. Nothing too bad. I guess after reading all the horror stories of the sublingual tablet withdrawal, I was expecting a little more.

Do you all have any advice for this? Should I arrange for a week off work or so, or just go for it and live life without change?

Thanks in advance.
