I grew up with a father who would use fear to control others. Whether it was the constant screaming threats of bodily harm against my mother and I, or the quieter manipulation tactics that made me question reality. His character assassination attempts were effective in making him feel big and in control. And in cases where instilling fear or confusion doesn't work, he will switch to playing the victim. He tried to convince me that I was mentally invalid, having said to my face in anger once that I belong in a psych ward. He is allergic to acknowledging his own guilt/shame and taking accountability for his corrosive actions. He really hates it when you are happy and confident, it's like a thr

Hey, just moved to Florida a few days ago and immediately caught a cold. Sick. I've got my cat to keep me company but wouldn't mind chatting with someone, especially if you like to talk since my throat kind of hurts. Tell me about that thing you can talk about for hours, or let's exchange cool stories. Message me for my discord, if you read this I hope you have a great evening!

I'm a 30 year old heteromantic asexual male who has only had one major relationship, and a few minor (<1 year) ones. I know that when looking for a partner, it's almost never a good idea to get with someone who hasn't recovered enough from their trauma, but there's this part of me that feels so willing to if we click. How do I tell the difference between a healing relationship with no power dynamic where I am still able to be somebody's anchor, and a potential toxic relationship where a trauma bond occurs? I'm actively looking for a partner and I do not want to inadvertently cause trauma. Thank you.

Anyway, after inquiring on here for a while, I've learned that perhaps there isn't really a long term future there for me considering my interests. I've lived for 4 years in the hills of east Tennessee, and as depressing as the people were there, at least I could hike to my heart's content. There really isn't an equivalent to that in Memphis. I also enjoy walking around at night, but I wouldn't really be able to do that there either. I'
