I can share pictures if you'd like but the point is this: I used cloud workstations twice in June and got billed over 100 dollars for it. I disabled the cloud workstation APIs after deleting the cloud workstations, then I was billed for it both this month and last month.

I've called support and they tell me to disable billing on my account entirely or disable the API which I have already done. When I then ask "can you confirm I should no longer be billed for cloud workstation usage" they then tell me I'm still using resources in the cloud for workstations.

I am getting sick of this circle and want to stop the bills, can someone help me here?

Hey, as the title says, I did my tax and the calculation came out and said that I owe the ATO $4k. Most is fine, but this included, among other things ~$14k owed to the ATO for my HECS debt. My employer (a quasi-government institution) has informed me that this has already been withheld from my paychecks, which I've verified, and this is correct. However, I then called the ATO and they told me that this is due to a "Tax estimate" and that once I submit the tax lodging, it will go back to normal. This feels really dodgy to me, and I'm wondering if they've given me bad info, or if I should follow through on their advice? If I don't how do I go about resolving this?

So I've got my side project where I'd like to just have a full stack web-app that I can "Own" just for whenever I have a new idea I can quickly deploy and implement a variation rather than having to bother with auth, routing, CORS, etc.

I'm using NextJs and Firebase and frankly I can't stand it. I'm not sure how. It's better than the React/Python I used to use but not by much. I feel like there's probably something less annoying than Next and better than firebase out there, but I can't see it.

If you wanted to have a platform yourself with "all the basics", what would you use to make it? Would you hire someone else to do it for you?

I remember a priest saying once, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing poorly!" in the sense that even though we might be bad at living a righteous life, it's worth trying and failing to at least get started, before getting better later.

Though I wasn't normally a fan of this priest, I loved it, and think of this often when it comes to cooking, music, new work etc. Of course, holding back sin too.

Anyway, what's something similar that you've heard and liked?

I've lived most of my life in this country. I've been stung by things, swooped by magpies, buzzed by a million flies, but there is nothing, nothing more annoying than being inside a supermarket or on a ferry or bus or beach, enjoying the serenity when suddenly a meter behind me I get a full volume: "HEY KATIE! KATIE! HEY! HEY KATIE! LOOK AT WHAT MIKE DID! DID YOU SEE IT? LOOK AT MIKE! HEY KATIE!"

And yet due to Katie's 30 meter distance away, and the fact she is talking to Sarah, she did not, in fact see what Mike was doing. But she walks up slowly prompting a subsequent, slightly lower volume: "JACK NEARLY CAUGHT A SEAGULL" or something riveting like that.

My point is this: th

I was thinking about how the four humours theory was used in much of the Ancient and Medieval world, and though I know of its obvious incorrectness, and resulting horrible procedures like Leeching and Cupping, I was wondering if it was better than nothing at all? In the same sort of a way a broken clock is right twice a day.

To simplify it, if I had a random disease, would I be better seeing a medieval doctor or doing nothing?

Hi All, particularly software devs here, I'm interested in a long term project idea that would be useful to the world, but I would like it to be owned and started by Catholics since I believe the Church would benefit from it most.

My idea is to create something open source, that would track all ideology and consensus in text files/repos. All beliefs would be marked as a "git diff" of a central core consensus, and every new "fork" would be tracked.

I would want this for the church since it's useful to questions on doctine and theological development going forward, since it would display current, previous and future discussions and consensus in a single spot rather than

Not sure if this was better for here or the main sub, but after some personal thought and experience I want to lay this one down:

"Forgive us of our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us".

If we must be contrite during confession, when we seek God's forgiveness, it is reasonable to generally seek the same from those around us. So if A were to do some injustice against B, B should forgive A in the same manner as in confession, and though he may choose to be more merciful and forgive without any sign of apology, he is still completely Catholic when requesting that A is sorry before granting forgiveness.

I've been in this situation recently, and though the complex
