Hello Reddit,

So after years of waiting my wife and I are buying our first house. With that, I will have half of the spacious 2 car garage to devote to shop space. While I've dabbled with simple woodworking in the past, this will be the first time that I have the space to really take on longer and more detailed projects.

I currently own a limited set of tools: Drill, Driver, hand saws, a puny 8 inch miter saw, chisels, and other assorted hand tools. I am looking for advise on what power and hand tools I should acquire first with one caveat:

Our new house will be a 3 minute drive from my parents, and my Dad has quite a few power tools already (circular saw, miter saw, scroll saw, router

After a few days to lament on our loss to Ole Miss, I'm generally not too upset. We had a great season, won a lot of games that we probably shouldn't have, won the SEC again, and lost to a damn good team. So why do I feel so frustrated?

Well, most of us were probably hoping we'd at least make the semifinal. And that's justified. But the more I think about it, I'm more annoyed that we had to play Ole Miss again. I know that's how the bracket shook out, but the fact that we had such a great season is a little soured by the fact that we didn't get any interesting OOC matchup to end it!

Every year since 1997, regardless of how good or bad we were, we've gotten to end our season against

I don't know what the devs were thinking when they balanced air combat in this game. On almost every map with air vehicles, it is incredibly easy to completely deny enemy air just by spawnkilling.

On heli-only maps, enemy attack helicopters can bombard the HQ helipad. This is particularly bad on Manhattan Bridge due to the buildings that prevent friendlies from engaging the helicopter. Why are vehicles on the ground in HQ not immune to enemy damage?

With Jets - all the maps with runways have the same issues. I saw a squad yesterday who spent the entire game on Firestorm flying a transport heli into our spawn to destroy jets and helis so our team could never use them. On Miraak and B

With BF6 having challenges and progression tied to the use of specific classes, smoke grenades are basically non-existent. You always have the subset of players on support who always run frags, but by not giving other classes the option to run smoke, games are often decided based on how many supports one team has.

With the number of chokepoints and tight corridors on BF6 maps, smoke grenades are absolutely vital to pushing objectives and flanking the enemy team. Just today I've won 3 games of Rush and we all-capped the other team on Cairo just because nobody on the other team ever used smokes to break up our team's sight lines. I can't help but think that games would be more balanced if

Hello r/flying, I am looking for advice on what it would take and what things to consider as I ponder taking the leap at a career change and becoming a professional pilot.

I am 31 years old with zero hours. I have to this point had a rather uneventful career in IT, which while interesting and cushy has not given me the satisfaction and purpose that I was hoping for. I have always had an interest in aviation and living in Anchorage, Alaska, I am constantly surrounded by air traffic of all kinds, from 172s, to 747s, to F22s and C17 at the nearby air force base.

I am fully aware that this endeavor would be expensive, difficult, and the day-to-day life may be much harder than my life is no

Hello r/flyfishing, I'm a resident of Anchorage who's getting back into fly fishing after a multi-decade hiatus. Trouble is, I've lived in Alaska for years and while I know lots of places to go for Salmon, Char, and Pike, I don't really know what rivers are best for rainbows or dolly varden, especially this time of year before the salmon runs really ramp up.

Does anyone have any suggestsions for lakes or rivers to fish along the Parks highway, and what flies to use in early June? I've been thinking of heading to the Nancy Lake or Willow Creek areas, but any suggestions are welcome.

I won't be able to be at the game this week as I live thousands of miles from GA now but I was there 2 years ago when Tennessee rolled in at #1 and we crushed them.

Sanford needs to be louder than ever on Saturday. Night game, season on the line, and this team needs an electric home atmosphere. All season our big games have been on the road - but this time it is our turn to affect the other team and give our Dawgs the best support we can.

Saturday is win or go home time. Let's all show up with the intensity that the moment demands, and hope the team follows suit.

Title. I'm confused by the design decision to disallow the use of special camos unlocked on other guns until you have unlocked all military camos on a weapon. Lots of the special camos are unique and deserve to be showcased, but nobody is running them because by the time they can, they have gold unlocked on the weapon and are moving on to the next camo grind.

Hello everyone,

I am a relatively experienced backpacker as I've been doing it since I was a scout decades ago, but I've spent most of my time backpacking in the SE US where it's pretty warm even in shoulder seasons.

I now live in Alaska, and I've quickly found that my sleep system has needed upgrades. I've since upgraded my pad to the Nemo Tensor insulated and had good results, but I'm now looking for something to replace my 20 degree bag that just hasn't quite been enough. In the higher elevations here, it can drop below freezing overnight even in July.

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of sleeping bags that are <4lbs, comfortable down to 0 degrees, and don't cost a small fort

Hello r/xcountryskiing! My wife and I are interested in learning to ski this winter, but we are concerned about how to choose gear.

I myself am a bigger guy at 5'11', 200lbs, but I have seen plenty of options for someone my size.

My concern is more for my wife, as she is a good bit heavier than me at 5'8 ~260lbs.

I'm just wondering what options there are for someone her size. We know it's not going to be perfect but we're looking for a fun way to stay active together during winter. We live in Anchorage, Alaska where there are plenty of groomed ski trails open and available from Oct-Apr.

Hi r/Christianity, I (29m) and my fiancée (26f) are struggling with remaining celibate before our marriage this fall.

We know everything about each other, trust each other, and are fully committed to our relationship, but we are not yet married, and lately both of us have on several occasions taken cuddling a bit too far and engaged in sexual touch and stimulation to the point of orgasm. We have not had full intercourse yet but I fear that if we don't set some boundaries we are going to break that barrier before our wedding. I really want our marriage to be pure and I want our wedding night to be new and special, so I don't want that to happen.

The problem we are both having is that we bo
