#Intro

As my name may indicate, pressing has never been a strong suit of mine. However, the pandemic period has actually been probably the most consistent period of growth in terms of my pressing since I ran out of LP gains on Stronglifts. Consider:

Before we start: iIf you haven’t read the last writeup I did on daily squatting, please check it out. It’s not required to understand this, but I did make some changes this time around.

#Background

I’ve been lifting since February of 2016. I ran SL for way too long, thought I knew how to program for myself, didn’t, and have spent a great deal of time since then running various mixes of other programs. Off the top of my head I’ve run (whether strict or modified) a great deal of the Nuckols 28 free programs, MagOrt, Coan/Phillipi, Candito DL, Gillingham bench, Gillingham DL, Dark Horse, H

The June lifting challenge has finally come to and end! We had 23 unique lifters contribute entries - with 4 of them submitting more than one - for a total of over 380,700lbs of squats squatted. That's some serious output, and I'm incredibly proud of everyone who gave the contest their best shot.

For the men: we had a battle between u/whatwaffles, u/NRLlifts, and u/DegenerateDoug (and his brother) with all three of them submitting more than one run. Just these three fellows alone accounted for over 35% of all of the volume done in the competition! With a last-minute final entry, u/DegenerateDoug clutched out the win. Congrats, you absolute monster!

This is where to post entries for the June 2021 r/weightroom lifting challenge. Full contest rules and discussion can be found here.

You must submit your video to this thread for it to count for the contest. I will be reviewing videos as they're posted and updating the leaderboards. Wildcard candidates will be collected and voted on at the beginning of July.

Good luck!

#The Challenge

Squat more total volume than anyone else in 10 minutes or less. Easy!

Entries must be submitted in the entries thread to be counted.

#The Rules

  1. The squats must be performed in June 2021.

  2. Only uncut videos will be accepted. I know this will end up being long videos, but it's important to make sure the time is accurate.

  3. Squats must be performed through a proper range of motion. I'm not going to be measuring every rep to make sure you hit proper depth the whol

This isn’t so much a “program review” as it is a method review? Experiment review? But I’ll call it a program review anyway since it’s loosely based on some existing work and “method review” seems silly.
