I think Cliff Wheeler has AIDS

In the finale we find out he's having an affair and it's pretty clear it's with the FBI guy.

It's early 1990s California. I think I remember Cliff saying something in the episode about having lost some weight. I think he'll be diagnosed with AIDS.

Is it possible to get the same notification icons that are displayed beneath the time and date when the phone is open to display with the clock and date on the cover screen?

Cussler had a lot of creative differences with the motion picture industry, so the majority of his characters never got cast on screen. Sometimes when I'm reading I get an actor in mind that would be perfect for a role. What actors would be great for which characters?

I've been contacted a couple of times in the last month by companies with positions where they don't require any prior experience with their tech stack. I took an interview with the first one because I was curious why they wanted to interview me when I had zero experience with any of their tech. The answer was they want talented engineers who are committed to doing quality work. On the one hand, I totally get that - I've always picked up and self-taught whatever I needed to learn to get the job done and I've been very successful. I have a good eye for the business domain and user concerns. That could totally work.

OTOH, I'm wondering if this isn't some kind of "job smell." Is the hiring com

I'm looking for two-mode window blinds. I want to be able to choose between something that lets in light, but still offers privacy and can also fully block out daylight. I'd like to tie them in to Alexa so I can automate choosing between modes and request a mode on command.

Would be ideal, for example, to have blackout blinds until it's time to get up in the morning and then automatically switch to privacy mode so the morning light comes into the room, but people outside can't see into the room.

The automation part isn't so hard, but finding a setup that has both a blackout and a privacy level has me stumped.

I've bought a replacement for my returned Jetta TDI: a diesel Cruze. OK, it's not a VW and it doesn't have all the feels of the Jetta I was so attached to. But... if you're the least bit brand-agnostic and love diesel-powered cars, the Cruze is definitely worth a look.

The main operational difference is the handling. The Jetta loved to be thrown into curves. The Cruze comes with 16" tires and they're just not very athletic. Some aftermarket wheels would probably help if that's your thing.

If your thing is fuel economy and diesel torque, the Cruze is great. I got over 50 MPG on my first tank without trying. My Jetta just couldn't do that. The low-end torque is also there in the Cruze and it

So, my battery died last night. I've been patient, but I decided to dig in this morning because I really don't want to pony up for a fresh battery.

The good news is that I was able to get through on chat twice in a relatively short amount of time. I landed on Step 15 on Nov 6. VW says they sent my payoff request on Dec 14. That's a pretty bad lagtime in itself, but, OK, the request has been made, right?

I'm financed with Capital One, so I called them. My account shows no payoff request activity.

Back to VW. VW says there's a special contact at the banks.

Back to Capital One. After a lot of hold time, the buck stopped with the third person I talked to. There is a special team working with
