So I'm writing an MM Urban Romanticy series based on the character I first thought of like 35 years ago while watching I Dream Of Jeannie.

In the first book there is very much a loving and romantic relationship with a lot of pain to the fireplace narrative rather than actual spicy scenes.

The second book I introduced elements of spiritual animism (Medicine Dog, Bear, The Black Bull, etc.) and I find then I'm basically writing for a porn. This was not my intended genre but the scene is coming out on autopilot. I'm in the flow state, the pacing is spot on and every Beach is exactly what and when it should be from the start of the encounter to the embarrassing cleanup.

I'm litera

For some reason I've been banned from actual legal advice and I don't remember how or why. I think I answered a post not realizing which group it was in thinking I was talking on a different forum. So since I can't ask there..

Several decades ago when my grandfather died he put a piece of property in my name in his will. I never accepted the deed but I keep getting property tax demands and have done so for decades.

I do not acknowledge this property as belonging to me because I never asked for it and I never accepted it.

How do I get my name off of this property that I never asked for and never accepted?

So I'm an American, and my father's bloodline is muddled entirely. Like I've got no idea who any of my parental ancestors are. No one in the family cared enough to maintain that.

My mother's father claimed to be a genealogist and somehow managed to track his name back to just about anybody famous in England and the British isles. But it was very popular for everybody to claim lineage from Strongbow or whoever so I'm not sure I can blame him for any of that.

And there is definite evidence that one of my mother's grandparents tried to wipe away any trace of Germanic heritage during World War II or possibly even World War i. A lot of scratched off names that got Francofiled pretty hard.

But

So I have a Duology and I just finished the first draft of the second book.

The first book is beta reader ready and has been for about two months.

In finishing the second I realized that adding a couple dozen sentences (total) to the first book, like one sentence here and two there, would clarify some of the foundation for book 2. You know, just head off the people who are likely to say "but you said (blah) to the delivery guy in scene (blah) when (other blah) really ended up happening in book 2".

So the second book hints at a few places where a few things could now be tighter in the first.

None of the current stuff in bin 1 is flawed. It's not

Disclaimer: This is just an expression of frustration that might be super common, I just need to say it to someone. Also this is dictated with voice to text because of nerve damage, so apologies if there are any fascinating words substitutions I overlook. Hahaha.

Yesterday I finished the first draft second book of an unpublished two book m/m urban romantasy and now it's a burden instead of an idea.

Like two days ago I had this story I wanted to tell full of characters I wanted to meet and explore, and I was flowing towards that last emotional beat.

Now I've got this task list instead.

Make sure my continuity is good. Find an editor that isn't a scam. Figure out how to get beta readers.

Vagueness Disclaimer :: I was on-site support for a large company to a large company. Governments and aircraft are generally involved. I can't really say more for various reasons, every to mention that no actual aircraft are involved in this incident.

So at this site there was this manager. He'd made a bid to control this project. He was going to get it "back on track" because he knew everything about the hardware, the software, and the procedures.

He won this little palace coup.

I get a call. Trouble in the lab. A device is going offline. I grab my bag and cross the vip parking aisle from building X to building Y and assay the bureaucratic joy that is getting into the lab.

I must preface this with the fact that I am 61 and have developed parkinson's. I use voice to text a lot particularly on my Android phone. This is my anti-Love letter to that.

My dearest technology, why are you doing this?

I watch as you turn my voice into words and it is amazing. And then I watch as you take the words that I just said and decide they're not the words I meant and you change them.

Why?

I say something like "new paragraph" and bask in the glory of the double carriage return and newly opened blank line, but you tease me as the next word I speak causes that glorious new paragraph to vanish as you undo the smart thing and put the words new paragraph in place of the glori

My local CVS pharmacy, in Target at the landing just outside of Seattle, has installed a display and touch screen. That screen displays my name and my prescription information in a font that is easily readable at 10 ft.

The clerk tried to tell me that it had a privacy screen on it, but it has the stock 80° of readability. When she said well she couldn't read it from where she was standing she was about 100° off perpendicular cuz you can't turn it the entire way.

Another customer told me that they couldn't read it because my body was in the way, but that was because they wouldn't be able to read a 4 ft sign if my body was in the way, but for the standard for an LCD screen of having about

I'm a good writer. I can't sketch my way out of a wet paper sack. Going to fiver (etc) to pick a cover artist feels like you're paying the crap shoot that'll give me analysis paralysis.

I'm looking for fantasy cover work that's place symbolism heavy, but character detail light (I tend to omit detailed facial descriptions of character appearance on purpose so it would be weird to have someone try to put a face to the characters themselves.)

I'm looking for two covers, one for a fantasy realm setting swords and survey, one for an urban fantasy set in/around Seattle. Both are m/m themed but only the urban fantasy would qualify actively as romance.

Obviously no AI slop.

I'm guessing $150 per

So I've finished the first draft of what was supposed to be a fun little m/m urban fantasy bodice ripper titled "love runs out". It started as an experiment where I was just going to write on my phone while hanging at a pub. Then covid happened and I said it aside. A couple weeks ago I picked it back up and decided to finish it.

It was never going to be "lite fare" but I Figured Dresden Files at worst, with more swear words and men kissing (among other things.)

The third act was suppose to pivot on one of the main characters resolving an old family trauma for the other mc at great personal expense.

I haden't planned any details and I spontaneously disgorged something that walks right do
