We live somewhere that's very, very windy and when the wind is blowing, the alarm goes off almost continuously. It doesn't matter if the doors are locked or unlocked, every couple of minutes, we have to use the key fob to shut off the alarm and it goes off all night long.

How do you just turn it off? It makes no sense not to have a way to deactivate it temporarily.

I've had Lastpass for a long time, but recently, it's popping up when I'm trying to log into things with a list of saved logins, but in so doing, it's blocking essential fields, like "keep me logged in" and "Confirm".

How do you stop it from doing so?

I'm never buying another, this is stupid. Last time, it was a microwave and even though the magnetometer was still under warranty, they refused to do anything about it. They told me to take it to a service center, pay out of my own pocket and then submit it to them and they'd "see if they wanted to pay for it". Now, it's a dishwasher. We had nothing but trouble from the beginning, they even had to have a tech come out to get it working and Lowes gave us $150 off the purchase price. Now, less than 2 years later, it's just fried itself and it's been having problems, likely with the main board, for a while. The main board costs more to replace than the whole thing did.

Never, ever, ever, ever

My father-in-law died back on October 5. We paid the mortuary for death certificates, but as the weeks went on, nothing arrived. Every time we called them, they made excuses. It's not their problem, it's the county. So today, I called the county to figure out what was going on. Maybe they were backlogged? Maybe the post office lost it? Who knows. No, they never got any orders or any payments for anything, including the burial certificate.

Back to the mortuary. "Oops, I guess I screwed up!" They have no clue what happened. Maybe they sent it to the wrong county. Maybe they just "forgot". They have no clue, but they'll get it in today, they promise! They didn't even sound like this was unusua

Just got my renewal notice for the APS today and, no surprise, the stamp isn't cancelled. I don't remember the last time I got anything in the mail that had a stamp and it was properly cancelled.

It's no wonder they're hemorrhaging money! They have one job and they can't even do that right!

Looks like my daughter's Xbox One bit the dust. I wanted to pick up a refurbed 500gb version if I can just swap out the hard drives with the 1TB version we have. There's no warranty to worry about and I don't think the drives are married to the console. Would it work?

My wife's father died this morning. My wife is trying to deal with it and right now, her problem is, she's having problems with his laptop where absolutely all of his financial information is located. I don't have the laptop at hand, she's a couple of hundred miles away, but she says that when she tries to log into Windows, she gets a local login, not the Microsoft Account login. When you click the button, a window opens for an instant and then vanishes. She has the password to get into his Microsoft Account, but she has no way to access it.

Ideas? She's trying to pay some bills to keep the house going and at the moment, everything is locked up on that laptop.

My mother is elderly and has started to lose her hearing. She can hear just fine when talking on the phone, but in person, she can't hear you. She clearly needs a hearing aid, but she's also bed ridden in a home and can't go anywhere. We've talked to several doctors and all of them are happy to help if she can walk into their office. She can't and they're not interested once they hear that. Even her insurance has no idea what to tell us because they can't tell the doctors what to do and clearly, they can't be dragging their equipment around.

She's getting more and more isolated because of this. She's happy to talk to people on the phone where she can hear, but doesn't want anyone to come in

For the past 2 weeks, I've been unable to upload videos because absolutely no thumbnail, including thumbnails that have uploaded just fine in the past, will upload. I get an error and without a thumbnail, it rejects the entire video.

What the hell is going on?

The game glitched and I fell through the map. I wound up in a section near Fish Eye with no exits, but I can't use weapons, can't kill myself so I'll respawn and if I reboot, that's where I start out.

What the hell?

My wife just got a new computer and she's trying to sign into her Microsoft account but it tells her that her password is incorrect. If she logs into account.microsoft.com, she can sign in perfectly well there using the same password. She has tried to change her password and it doesn't help.

Ideas?

Here's an oddball one. We got my mother's cat a couple of years ago when she was put into a nursing home and so far, so good. The odd bit is that the cat absolutely refuses to step foot on anything that's soft. No rugs, no soft furniture, she absolutely refuses. If you pick her up and put her on the bed, she freaks out and runs away. She's great on hard surfaces and our house is almost all tile and hardwood, but in the several years we've had her, she absolutely won't touch anything that isn't hard. If you have a treat for her and you're on the other side of a rug, she'll either walk all the way around the rug to get it or she'll just turn and walk away.

That wasn't the case at my mother's
