Pretty sure this is a bug introduced with either the season or today’s update, but it took me a few restarts to figure out what was going on.
For those of us that play consistently but infrequently, purchasing the pass levels is an appealing way to pick up the last few rewards - but obviously I don’t want to spend more coins than necessary doing so.
I had one more event quest to complete today and expected to have until around the patch drop time to finish it, at which point I’d planned to buy whatever was left. Maybe I was playing with fire the moment the display switched to ‘ending soon’, but oh well :(
The music was a big part of me getting sucked into this game. When I started playing at the end of the Spirit Blossom event I was grinding like crazy to get the most out of the pass, and even after 80 or 90 games over a few days I still loved hearing the opening notes of the Summoner's Rift board theme.
This prompted me to buy a few different boards to enjoy more of the music, and both Freljord and Bilgewater have felt like money well spent. But since then the quality has kept coming, not just with the boards released since but with tracks like the
...to include Louise and Lucretia. Not a massive improvement for anyone that's been sitting on one of these, but it is the first addition to the pool ever, so at least it means they're worth keeping!
There have been a lot of posts that boil down to the same thing appearing today with very similar comment threads, so I thought I'd try to move things forward a bit by addressing the most commonly voiced views. There may already be other posts like this one that have been downvoted into oblivion, but I figure it's worth a try.
As a game developer that's worked with a few big IPs and associated big audiences and loud communities, here's my take on what I've read repeatedly today:
SnS is missing some Pokemon (and optionally, recent Pokemon games have been getting worse) because Game Freak are lazy and complacent.
This doesn't seem likely. Even were it not for the Japanese working cul

I had considered posting this on r/pokemongo, but I think I'd be wasting my time - this sub always seems more rational, so I'm hoping this will create some discussion.
I, like most people here, have read a lot of rage today about how Niantic are destroying something that could have been truly great. That their priorities are completely out of whack, and that they're clearly more interested in rinsing players for cash right now than they are in making an entertaining game that will last. Many people have expressed utter disbelief that the developers of Pokemon Go could be so blind to the wishes of its players.
The assertion I'd like to put to these people is that ***neither this sub nor /r
Hopefully this goes without saying, but as someone who hasn't got the Ace Pilot RM yet I was waiting for the Saturdaily for my most efficient chance. Given that I'm now planning to sink some mythril into Orbfest refreshes, my bonus battle plans have been put on hold until I get hold of it.
There's probably some mathcraft to apply here, but I've no idea of the drop rates or conditions (is it just a straight-up chance after any FFVII 'room' regardless of difficulty)?
So I was checking out all the upcoming banners on the spreadsheet and at http://bantha.org/~dscotton/ffrk.html and it seems like banners with 4 unique SBs become the norm from the Terra event onwards. Does that represent a drop rate increase from 2 to 4%?
That would be enough to get me to hold back from the next few banners. I know the unique SB weapons aren't always better or more useful, but there's something compelling about getting as many characters as possible kitted out with them!
