Long story short, I'm running openvpn access server and I'm using nginx to proxy vpn.mydomain.com to mydomain.com:443

I want everything else to go to 404.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but everything just goes to the proxy_pass.

https://vpn.mydomain.com goes to my OpenVPN Access server fine

https://mydomain.com also goes to the same place. I don't want that. I want it to 404.

May goal here is to learn how to use nginx. I'm not sure I fully undertand these server blocks. Can somone give me some pointers?

I wrote the install iso to my USB drive that I regularly use and just tested with Ubuntu 18.04 as working.

Antergos ISO when selected to boot either UEFI or not, simply goes to a black screen with a white cursor in the top left and accepts no user input. It never makes it past that screen.

I wrote the ISO using DD in the usual way.

I'm trying to do a QNAP (linux NAS) samba shares that have about 8TB of data on it to a Windows based file server so I can properly make backups using VEEAM.

Anyways, I've been able to seed the 8TB fine mostly. A few hundred files of about 18 million don't make it over.

Here is an example of my robocopy script:

I was using the 8-4 balancer in the wiki, but I didn't like that the output was limited based on the input. If I didn't have all of the 8 belts somewhat saturated, the output was not even. If I only have 4 of the belts going in, only two belts would come out. That's a bit inflexible.

I knew that the typical 4-4 balancer was great, so I took three, put them in a T shape and combined them. Now I have this funky 8-4 balancer that even distributes to the output regardless of the input.

I'm in the middle of a NAS migration and we're offloading one NAS onto another so we can rebuild it. Basically we're going from the NAS hosted share to an ISCSI setup and a windows server hosting the shares.

I'm running this script

robocopy \\192.168.5.80\files z:\shares\files\ /mir /log:z:\logs\files.txt /NFL /NDL

The problem I'm having is that the files and folders in z:\shares\ are simply not visible compared to the source at 5.80. Space is being taken up on the drive, and when I change permissions, I can see it going through each file.

I changed the permissions to allow me full access, but I already have that on the source and the permissions copied over fine. Windows Ex

Hey all. I have a client where we have had about 10-15% of the desktop users suddenly have really high CPU kernel usage.

We run Process Explorer as System and we show that the CPU is all Red which is Kernel. No process is showing high CPU usage.

We've removed AV, turned off every non-critical service including labtech, and uninstalled as much software as we can. It's been a guessing game this whole time. We can reboot and after a while, it comes back. There is no set interval so we can't pattern it.

We're a bit stumped. How do we diagnose this issue?

All my other hardware works except for one model Dell 3010 desktop.

I have the drivers imported and I regenerated the boot image. I replaced the boot image in MDT.

After doing a PXE boot and loading the boot image, the screen just stays blank like it's waiting for it to load lighttouch.vbs and it never does.

I checked with F8 that it has a network connection and I can indeed ping the Deployment share server, so it's not network related.

I also don't seem to have any logs in the usual log locations, mainly because those folders don't exist.

Can anyone give me some guidance? I'm a bit stumped.

We deployed Office 365 click to run installer via script to 20 pilot machines. The installations complete just fine. The machines have office 2007 on them and we want to deploy 365 before we remove 2007 to prevent any users from not having office on their machines in case 365 fails to deploy.

After 365 is installed, word documents want to continue opening as 2007 word even though we set the file associations. In the file properties, it even shows Word 2016 as the open-with program. It still wants to open with Word 2007. On top of that, office 2007 wants to do an initial setup every time we try to open a word doc. This makes the program unusable.

Many of our computers on our domain that share the same MAK are losing their activation. They've all been imaged using WDS/MDT with the key automatically entered. They all activate fine after imaging, but months after they have been deployed, we have to re-enter the activation key and it activated fine. We have to enter the key again becuase attempting to acivate fails citing the comptuer can't talk to the KMS server. There has never been a KMS server, nor have we used KMS keys.

So far we've had to reactivate about 20 desktops in the last few days. At this rate, we'll be spending most of our time reactivating workstations. I'd like to avoid that if I can.

I manage a client that want's to have everything encrypted that they work on. This includes the files stored on their shares, their local workstations, and the transport of those files over their LAN. It's my job to offer up a solution.

Their current setup is a basic network share where the files are stored on a NAS and accessed from machiens on their LAN. Typical Windows shares.

My initial idea was to setup encrypted storage and move the shares there, and encrypt their workstations. But, that leaves the transport of the files over the LAN. I'm not quite sure how to approach this. Some sort of internal VPN? Setup SMB 3.0 only and force encrpytion?
