I'm researching the Braun family from Bell (Hunsrück, Germany) and have reached a dead end in the parish records. I'm hoping someone with access to Eike Pies' books or additional local sources might be able to help.

I'm looking for:

  • Joannes Mathias Braun, born around 1675, died 1728 in Bell.
  • Anna Maria, wife of Joannes Mathias Braun. They married in 1703 in Bell. The marriage appears to have been irregular, and she was already approximately 7–8 months pregnant at the time. I have not found her birth, death, or place of origin.
  • Mathias Braun (father of Joannes Mathias), born around 1640, died 1700 in Bell.
  • Joannes Peter Braun (son of Joannes Mathi

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to trace an ancestor born around 1710 (based on genealogical records, although this year might be incorrect). Charles Bley married Anna Maria Müller in Ettelbrück, Diekirch, Luxembourg in 1729. On his marriage record, his father is listed as Jean Nicolai Bley, and his origins from "Leesse" or "Leefse."

As seen in the image, this appears to be the name of a town or village. However, I haven't been able to find any evidence that such a place existed in 1729, either in what is now Luxembourg, Belgium, or Germany.

My goal is to locate Charles Bley’s birth record or any rec

Help transcriging census record

transcription requested

I’m currently researching my family history and came across a fascinating census record from Stargard. The head of the household is listed as Carl Ludwig Henning, and I believe he might be my 5th great-grandfather.

I could really use some help transcribing the document and understanding any specific details from it.

I've been researching my ancestors for the past 7 years (mostly out of personal interest), but I’ve hit a wall with one key person: the father of my ancestor who migrated to Brazil.

Here’s what I know:

  • Ludwig Henning – Listed as a blacksmith (Schmied), either residing in or deceased in Blumenfelde. This could refer to the one near Rosenfelde (Arnswalde region) or possibly the one near Lubicz.
  • My direct ancestor: Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Henning, born around 1812, resident of Wardin.
  • Carl married [Dorothea Sophia Witt in 1838](https://

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some help interpreting a record I found from 1838 in Choszczno (formerly Arnswalde). The image in the link contains some details about my ancestor, Friedrich Wilhelm, and his wife, Dorothea Sophia Witt, who immigrated to Brazil in 1859 with several children. I’m leaving the link here to the full image of the record (it’s the 7th entry): [1838 marriage in Arnswalde]

Based on information from ChatGPT, I’ve come across two possible options for Friedrich’s father’s occupation: either a carpenter’s assistant (~master) who passed away in Lemmin, or a blacksmith who died in Lübbe
