This last weekend had a population of only 119K players. In December of 2022, (December 2nd - December 6th), the population was 110K. Since then, the weekly participation has always been higher than 119K.

Trials is losing players at an astounding rate and needs changes quickly before they lose players for good.

What can save this sweaty, near worthless playlist?

I waited a couple of days to make sure the data came in for Steam. So far, 2k23 opening weekend was 24,955 players. 2k24 opening weekend is at its peak 11,552.

2K is bleeding in the numbers, the reviews, and the gameplay.

Edit: This is YoY (last year vs this year).

I really want scottie pippen, but I can no longer do Domination (completed the 33 wins). Is there any mode I can play for xp, regardless if I win in that mode, for MyTeam to supplement the weekly/daily challenges? I am worried that I do not have enough XP.... Right now I am grinding MyTeam currency to buy players to complete their challenges (and get tokens to buy players to complete team challenges).

  • Directing some frustration at the casual base for wanting matches fair for everyone (debatable, but check)

I am not trying to villainize anyone, as I know the high end pvp players are not playing "ideal" matches for their skill all the time. I get that, and Bungie is still adjusting. But... it IS amusing to see some frustration PVP mains have had w

Played freelance casually today, and holy cow, never had so many players absolutely lose their shit if we get stomped. This princess screaming in the picture, for example, has worse stats than I do! Freelance can be a crapshoot - some matches we are likely to lose. If someone is so salty in freelance, go find some friends and team up.

Yes, I want flawless, and have gone to the lighthouse many times. Does not give me or anyone a reason to flip out if we are outmatched in freelance. Slow your roll, princess.
SLOW. YOUR. ROLL.

Disclaimer: I am not saying racism, oppression, bad behavior, etc. was good, was needed, or should even be considered. It is wrong and has no place in our society. This is an attempt to understand the WHY Bungie was worried about the direction of the narrative team back in Curse of Osiris.

Context: 4 years ago, on December 5th, 2017, Curse of Osiris was released. Among many things that frustrated players, was the tone and direction of Destiny 2's storytelling. One of the many complaints from this subreddit, 4 years ago:
