Edit: Thanks all! Problem solved.

Edit2: I'm making this edit from my new PC!

The instructions for my new CPU state that you must use thermal paste on the CPU fan or heat sink, however it looks like the CPU cooling system that came with my CPU's Processor-in-Box item already has some paste applied.

Is that thermal paste? Or do I need to go get some? It'd be very strange if it were anything other than thermal paste there, but I just want to be certain before risking my new hardware.

I'm spending lots of time isolated indoors due to the you-know-what, and I thought I would get into 40k since it has always interested me. I happened to choose Deathwatch as my first army. I just finished all the builds, and now I need to select paints.

I have everything I need for the standard Deathwatch armor and detail colors, but the issue is that I need to get some paints to match all the various chapters these space marines came from.

Is there a cheat sheet online somewhere that has a list of the standard chapters and Citadel paint schemes? I don't want to spend a lot of time figuring out how to recreate them just for their home chapter pauldrons.

I'm going to be doing a lot of painting here in social isolation, and was thinking it's finally time to start getting more deeply into some of the fictional elements of the setting.

There are a LOT of choices though. Where should I begin?

I'm particularly interested in the Grey Knights, Deathwatch, T'au, and The Horus Heresy, if that provides any guidance for suggestions.

I'm about to start putting in some work on a new Numenera ruin for an upcoming campaign I'll be GMing, and I'm looking for some ways to give it character beyond simply being full of the Numenera.

How would you design a memorable, large Numenera ruin?
How to make it feel important in a world full of other ruins?
How would you make it weird in a way that doesn't feel contrived?

Hey all!

I recently made the switch to a 64-bit DAW and have found replacements or upgrades for all of my previous 32-bit only VSTs, except for one. The one that emulates the Roland JX-3P.

I've been using the Stumm PG-23p for a long while, and it looks like the creators were never able to make a 64-bit version. I know Roland offers an official option, but I am trying to avoid paying a subscription service to retain access to software, so I am looking for alternatives.

Can you recommend any 64-bit compatible VSTs for emulating the JX-3P on Windows? Open Source would be awesome, but I am not opposed to paying (once) for a quality product either.

Edit: Looks like Jbridge is highly recomm

Hi r/Numenera!

I'm starting work on a new one-shot set in either Vralk or an isolated part of The Beyond where the PCs will be taken into a classic Gladiatorial combat situation. I'm looking for ideas that would help make this concept seem to fit in with the Ninth World.

Strange weaponry and beasts, usable installations during combat, a race to a cypher chest, etc.

What would you do to situate a Colosseum squarely in the world of Numenera?

Edit: Any other doctors ready to weigh in? lol

ugh

I live in a 6-plex apartment building, and over the past several months my downstairs neighbor has gotten progressively louder to the point where my girlfriend and I are considering moving to a new apartment building to get away from the noise. Loud music, dog barking and howling, all times of day (including late at night).

We've tried talking to the neighbor (several times, actually) and she seems to be blowing off our concerns. We've talked to the landlord who supposedly talked to her about the situation, but nothing has changed from her behavior.

What are our options if the landlord is unable/unwilling to help out? When I filed a noise complaint to the city, the response
