Just wanted to provide the group with an update on the "vulture" that turned out to be a sick bald eagle yesterday.

The eagle spent the entire night in the tree in my yard. It snowed about 3" overnight. The eagle moved on at some point in the morning. The bird turned in to the talk of the town in my small, rural town and folks sort of mobilized around keeping a lookout for the eagle.

At about noon today someone reported a seeing it in a farmer field south of town. I went out looking for it and was able to find it about 100 yards off the road just sitting in the snow in the middle of the field.

I'm in a tough spot and not sure what to do. (let me also say this is real first world problem shit, I know)

Earlier this week I accepted a job with a new company that is smaller than my current company. I'll have a new job title and i'll be making more money than I am currently. The company I am going to is smaller and the President is a former colleague of mine and someone I consider a friend.

When I went to resign my position, my CURRENT company made me an obscene offer to stay with them. They aren't going to change my job title but are offering me FIFTY THOUSAND (!!!)($50,000) more dollars per year in base salary to stay than what the new place offered.
