As the title says, I don't see an option to install the native Linux build right now. Will it come shortly after? As the Mac version is available on GoG too, I guess, it should arrive, but would like to see a comment about this.

Hi there, I wanted to convert wallpapers to JXL for some space savings but mostly because I was wondering, how much it will save me (never too much in the grand scheme of things ofc).

I use mostly wallpapers, which were nordified. That means there were adapted to conform more closely to the Nordic colour pallet. Doing anything else than -d 0 just increased the file size. It's not really an issue, just compress mathematically lossless, but it seems odd. Is it an issue of the encoder, though?

As I updated some time ago on Arch and found Spectacle gaining 100 MiB because of opencv I'm wondering: Why isn't it optional? And even though I understand what opencv actually is, I don't understand why it's included in Spectacle.

I looked up the docs and didn't find anything.

Whoever plays GoG games on their Steam Deck Heroic or Lutris do a great job allowing those to function easily on it. Even Cloud saves could be added as a beta feature.

But achievements were missing, for which comet is being developed for. Recently the main developer (a Heroic dev as well?) migrated from Python to Rust for stability and performance (even though I can't say if the latter applies). And now achievements seem to work but not completely. Not every game will work seamlessly. So it would be helpful if everyone could contribute to the Wiki on the Github page.

I'm not even sure if this is different to Plasma 5.27, if this is even a bug (or rather an issue with Firefox!) and I didn't notice it back then but right now, when I have some websites open kwin_wayland just does something with Render/3D keeping it at around 30-50 % utilisation. Outside of these websites, I guess there will be more of them, iGPU just idles. I found these websites causing this "issue":

Yesterday I replaced on my ThinkPad T490 (Arch Linux installed) the thermal paste with PTM7950 to get better temps and because the paste needed replacement in general.
By doing that i saw that the PCH right next to the CPU die didn't have any paste on it. Well, it's not like it really needs it in the first place but the way I set up thinkfan to look out for the CPU/ACPI temps (thinkpad-isa-0000) it seemed that the PCH temp had something so say as well and by that my fan ran even though the CPU cores were just cool.

Now it's just great and better. I just don't have the best before/after readings to compare for load temps but I can say just putting PTM on the PCH ( thermal paste would

I have Arch installed on a ThinkPad T490, using throttled, auto-cpufreq and partly tlp with Plasma.

Whatever happened throttled doesn't load as a service. I don't know when this started (a few days ago I had two crashes of which I thought those were caused by Undervolting combined with Ferdium|Discord), so I can't follow this back but I get the following error.

Ob der im echten Leben auch so wortkarg ist?Ich sollte noch hinzufügen, dass ich das Gehäuse alternativ auch mit CPU, Board und RAM für 190 € anbiete, aber wer weiß, ob der auch mit Grafikkarte und Massenspeicher gerechnet hätte...Hat sich genauso auch für zwei interne Kabel gemeldet, die ich gratis hergebe. Keine Ahnung, ob er überhaupt verstanden hat, dass wir drei die selbe Person sind. xD

I know how Flatpak works for the most part. Sandboxing, dependencies and so on. It's annoying enough that whole frameworks need to be installed more often but okay, that's not the point here.

Why does mesa have to be installed five times and mesa (extra) four times? If these were different versions, fine, but it's the same.

I have a ThinkPad T490 with Arch Linux installed and it works great. I tamed the fan with thinkfan and have no complaints with it. I set thinkfan to control the fan with the readings from thinkpad-isa-0000 (CPU). But lately the fan wouldn't stop even in a not that warm room when plugged in. At least it's just the lowest speed.

When I look at my temps CPU package and cores from coretemp-isa-0000 are as expected and can at idle/low use be nearly 10°C cooler than what thinkpad-isa-0000 shows. So what's the difference? What is the reading. When I look at the sensor readings the only things coming close are the PCH (mainboard chipset on the CPU package) and WiFi chip but those are not alway
