I applied for a HDFC Marriott Bonvoy CC 3 weeks back - and the entire experience has made me question how the bank even works.
1: I clicked on the “apply” link from the Marriott website The page redirected me to the HDFC website - where among other details, I asked me to provide the SM Code, LC1 Code, Team/Branch Code, LG/DSE, and LC2 Code. Obviously, I did not have these details - as an am not being assisted by a broker or a bank employee. It did not allow me to click the submit button - and so I discarded that form.
2: Next day, after a bit of googling, I decided to directly apply for the Card from the HDFC website - completed the form - uploaded the KYC docs - uploaded the salary pr
This is so frustrating.
I had booked a 2-night stay at Vivanta, intending to use the Amex milestone voucher.
During the online booking, the Taj website said they will only block the amount on the card. I later realized they had already debited the amount from the card.
During checkin, I had enquired if they can reverse the transaction, as I would like to pay via the voucher. They politely declined saying they cannot reverse the charge.
During checkout, I offered to pay the additional charges (in room dining and laundry) via the voucher - and it was again declined with a new disclaimer that the AMEX voucher can only be redeemed against the room stay charges and cannot be redeemed against
That does it!
Things getting out of hand.. I am forced to call out the perpetrators without any sympathy.
bots that are programmed to listen for specific keywords to make the call look more conversational.

(Why is this school even calling me? I don’t even have any school going kids!)

How many of you are in a similar situation?
After the new TRAI regulation, the caller id displays my name instead of theirs - even though they are in my contacts.
I can only imagine the predicament when they call their contacts (not relatives) - who might not even answer the call when they see an unfamiliar name on the caller-id screen.
What should my next steps be? Is transferring the SIMs to my family members, at an Airtel store, the only safe option? Both SIMs are postpaid, for context.
Just 4 hrs post the upgrade and I am already regretting the upgrade.
Here’s my gripe about the Messages apps
1- in iOS 26, there is a handy filter to view messages by unknown senders, known senders, promotions etc. but there is no “All”.
2- iOS 18.x had an option to filter messages based on SIM (in case you have multiple SIM profiles). That option is now gone.
Almost reminiscent of how the new photos app was pushed down our throats last year!
Frankly this Apple attitude of “trust me; I know what’s good for you - but no, you can’t revert to old behavior“ is irritating!
As the title says
I have been having trouble getting Immich installed on my Proxmox server.
All I see is an “permission denied” error when running the “docker compose up -d” without any details of which directory / folder is causing that error.
I have been able to narrow down the error to the Immich-database service in the YAML file. But that’s where the trail ended.
Steps:
- installed Proxmox + apt update + pveupgrade
- curl -faSL https://get.docker.com | sh
- follow instructions at immich.app -> Get Started
Tried going the LXC route — and same errors (for immich-database).
I feel this could be due to Proxmox user not being the same as the “docker” user — but not sure if that is rig
Is it possible to create a shortcut that takes a selfie pic when an incorrect passcode is entered on the lock Screen?
Just curious if anyone had been able to achieve it…
I was curious to try the “obtain a copy of your data” option on privacy.apple.com — and submitted a data-request for iCloud Photos.
It’s been close to 10 hrs now and there is still no sign of any email about the readiness of the same. Is this normal? The total size of iCloud Photos is about 10GB
For comparison, Google Photos processed a data-request for 55GB in about 15 minutes.
So, I found a USB -A adapter in the glove box and decided to connect my dashcam cable to this USB adapter
Once the car is started, the dashcam powers on - but not for long; after about 5-10 seconds, the dashcam turns off.
Blistering Barnacles!! What’s the bloody purpose of this hidden USB adapter? Has anybody got it working?
Please recommend any spa / birds.
