I was walking my puppy down an ally and I saw a pitbull off leash ahead. I figured since I was in a relatively busy place the pitbull must be chill, but just in case I picked up the puppy.

As we walked past, the pitbull charged full speed, snarling and barking. It was terrifying. It was a big pit bull.

The puppy instantly lost its mind in my arms.

I threw a rear teep that caught the dog between the neck and the shoulder and folded it like a lawn chair. It was smooth and I think thanks to my training I had a very solid foundation so the impact didn't stagger me at all, it just blasted the dog.

It hit the asphalt with a slap then bounced up and I immediately lunged toward it, barking, and

I was watching a highlight video of some tall 14 yo dunking and he's in Europe. And my first thought was "Man, all the talent is international these days".

But my second thought was "That's rad as hell. Basketball really made it. It is a global sport."

And it's crazy to think about how much more growth there is, because right now all of the talent is coming out of Europe. But if you look at the global reach of soccer, and also if you look at how accessible basketball is in urban environments, basketball is a game with a future in the world.

The USA won't always be the best team. But it will always be our game. And it's not even obviously derived from Cricket!

This article posits that Schroeder will be the PG of teh 2nd unit, which I think makes sense, and then puts forward this 2nd unit:

Schroeder

Podz

Moody

TJD

Looney

I'm curious what you all think about this 2nd unit, Podz' potential as SG, and also what you guys think the crunch time lineup will be.

UPDATE 2: After being told our van was ready to go and the check engine light was off, Aamco told us we needed to replace a plastic part in our engine that had warped and was leaking engine oil for $1500. We did so gladly and set off for our family vacation to the mountains.

BUT after about 200 miles, the transmission went THUNK and the check engine light came on! AAAARGH. We decided my wife and kids would get in another family's car who was also going on the same vacation with us, and I'd take the van to Fresno. Well, there was no Aamco in Fresno but there was one in Stockton so I tried to get the van there. Midway through the trip, all the warning lights came on and the van suddenly shift

UPDATE: Thank you all so much! I got great advice from this sub.

When our van's transmission started to have issues I took it to a garage and they quoted me $10K to fix it and recommended that I trade it in for a new van.

This sub rightly called that a "Fuck off quote" and recommended that I get a 2nd opinion, possibly from Aamco.

I took it to Aamco and they found that the computer system in the transmission needed a software update: $400!

We're freaking saved! Van is fixed!

Well, a week ago the check engine light came on and suddenly it won't shift above third gear. I took it to our local garage and the guy quoted me $10K on a transmission code and when I asked him what he'd do in my place, he said "Trade it in".

We're currently looking at that, but my question for yall is:

What is the smart and efficient approach to getting a family van? Do you go new? Used? Toyota? Mazda?

Is there a consensus right and most economical answer?

TLDR: Storm is a low-key archetypal card that inhabits a unique space in the game

I generally think that control decks are kind of slept on in Marvel Snap, and I think Storm is the most essential control card in the game.

When I look at the meta around me at 2500 CL (I used to be a 15K CL pay player but I rerolled f2p), I see destroy, ongoing, on reveal, move, and discard. These decks use Wong, Hela, Odin, Death - I like Storm more than any of these cards and I think it's because she's played early and people sleep on her lane if they're winning it after t4.

But, to use her effectively you just need a couple cards (I use Vision, Killmonger, and Nova to try to win her lane) and the rest ca

Help?

Am l?

I know I'm banned. I believe I was banned for making a low effort snarky reply in r/TrueUnpopularOpinion to the effect of "Thanks for your feedback". And I think I've been banned for like 3 months because of that.

I like reddit. I like participating in discussions around my interests and I'd like to continue doing so. I've submitted maybe 50 appeals.

Help, please.

I'm working on the Andante movement for the second Bach Sonata and there are a lot of fifths!

I find that a left hand position where I use a softer wrist and my flat finger pad to hit the chords produces more consistent intonation.

But, I wonder if this is considered a bad habit, or if this is a legitimate approach to these chords?

Also, what's the alternative? It seems like if I use a normal left hand posture then one of the notes in the fifth is always lower than the other.

Hey yall, a buddy and I have been asked to play background music at a dinner.

Normally, if it were just me, I'd spring for some $10 popular song book and just play it gently in the background, easy peasy.

That said, my buddy plays guitar and I'm not sure how to apply my easy song book approach to that.

Do you have any recommendations for music books or resources or just general advice for violin + guitar duets for background music at a gig?

We're both pretty good, but I don't think the point of this engagement is to be good. I think it's just to play easy, nice songs that people recognize. I'm grateful for any feedback or advice, thank you.

When I logged in yesterday Marvel Snap was like “we can’t find the account associated with this device” and started me back at level 1. I was 1600 cl and ranked 73. I’m trying to get it recovered but I’m curious, did this happen a bunch yesterday? Anyone else dealing with this?
