I love these games and I replay them all the time. I'm thinking I want to make an occasion for myself where I consider one month MGS month, like October being all about Halloween. My plan is that on this month every year I'll complete a playthrough of the mainline 1 - 4, since they're my favorites.

But what month feels most thematically appropriate to you? My first thought was April, because April 30th is a prominent date in MGS2 (the day Jack met Rose, Sons of Liberty, etc). But that's only significant in a relatively narrow sense and doesn't really apply to the other games.

Are there other times of year that best line up with events or are significant to the events of the MGS games?

I love the fantasy of striking out with my pickaxe or whatever and collecting materials to craft my own equipment to clear a dungeon. If I want to progress, there are no shortcuts like buying gear off the market or doing a quest that hands it to me. I gotta put in the work and gather it myself.

Runescape's Ironman mode is sort of the prime example of this, forcing you to do all the grinding yourself for 99% of the gear you're going to need. Though with a monthly sub it's hard to chill out without feeling the ticking clock over my head.

There are similar examples like private servers for WoW and FFXI I've played which offered their own ironman modes, and those are great, but the games neve

This is my first character I've made it into endgame with, very clueless, following a build and hitting a wall at pinnacles and nightmare maps. I managed maven but it was a real struggle to say the least and I don't imagine I'm ready for nightmares, let alone ubers. My main problem is bossing damage output and I feel randomly very glass cannon-y, even with warcries up. The build guide makes some big leaps between where I am and what it calls "endgame" and I don't really know how to follow up.

My favorite part about Grim Dawn is the fact that I can pick pretty much any ability or damage type at random and puzzle out a build based off of it. Maybe I want to pick the Arcanist's laser beam spell and make a poison-based build off of it. With some conversion elbow grease and a lucky drop or two it will almost certainly end up working even if it's not "meta".

After a couple hundred hours of PoE2 I feel like for all the emphasis on synergies and combo-based gameplay, the only combinations that actually work through endgame are the ones that were expressly laid out and accounted for by the devs. If I like Mercenary's fragmentation rounds, I'll have to go cold damage/freeze or I'm hamstri

I have a controller setup to play Guild Wars 2 that utilizes action set layers and the triggers to change the face button behavior between different actions. I have a "Main" action set for when neither trigger is pressed, then three layers for whether the left, right, or both triggers are pressed. I used this setup to do it.

This works almost perfectly, but I'm getting some buggy behavior when releasing both triggers simultaneously. Occasionally, I end up stuck in either the "Left" or "Right" layer, as though the input handler didn't register the release input for the remaining tr

I'm preparing a build that'll primarily be used for 1440p 144hz gaming, but also myriad creative nonsense (Adobe, FL, etc). Since it's going to be a while until I can get my hands on a gpu (especially a 3080, hopeful as I am), I figure I have a lot of time to research and perfect. I'm pretty happy with it right now, though.
