I want to try Nix OS with home-manager on my new laptop. I have my current laptop with MX linux and it just works. I want to use rsync to keep the two homes in sync. I try to keep it simple. The home-manager will not contain any setting that can be done through dotfiles, I just want to install packages without sudo. Is home manager will break my config files made with MX ?

I created an organization account 3 month ago and all was validated. But my account is now on the death row, its not clear to me but it is probably a DUNS number mess...
I'm thinking about giving up... if someone else can publish the game. I noticed the Balatro developer was alone, and his game was published by a company, so the dev didn't have to deal with Google.
Have you some experience to share, or some useful links ?
I use MX 23.4 and I'm interested by that package.
https://packages.debian.org/sid/godot3
My version of "libzstd1" is on 1.5.4 according to "apt show" command. The package requirement is on 1.5.5 It is similar for two other packages. The version difference is after the dot. Is it safe to install that deb package ?
Bonjour.
I watched everywhere but I only found the developer website. Even on publishers that are obviously organizations and not indies. Did I miss something ?
Hello. I use the Bspwm tiling window manager on Xfce 4.18. My windows don't have title anymore, so I write the title in the Xfce panel using Genmon with the following command.
xdotool getwindowfocus getwindowname
But I discovered this plugin.
https://github.com/AdamYuan/xfce4-wintitle-plugin
My command looks good enough (except with very long titles, it push the Orage clock outside). But I'm concerned by performance. The command starts an executable every second. Do you thing an external plugin is better on that regard ? Thank you in advance.
Its impossible for me to use a browser without my Firefox bookmarks.
So I ran the importer.py from my terminal. I'm totally noob with Python so I understand nothing.
Here is the copy paste from my terminal.
./importer.py ~/bookmarks.html > ~/.config/qutebrowser/bookmarks/urls Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/drito/.local/share/qutebrowser/userscripts/./importer.py", line 328, in <module> main() File "/home/drito/.local/share/qutebrowser/userscripts/./importer.py", line 55, in main import_function[input_format](args.bookmarks, bookmark_types, File "/home/drito/.local/share/qutebrowser/userscripts/./importer.py", line 175, in import_html_bookmarks import bs4
I tried using Parallel launcher but once I pressed "Create" a popup tells that the creation fails for an unknown cause. My OS is MX Linux.
My web searches was unsuccessful. It seems nobody uses virtual SD outside of N64 emulation. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
I use Xfce on MX-Linux. After an update Firefox behaviour changed. Even if my Bluetooth earphones is powered on before Firefox startup, Firefox always emit sound on the speakers. I have to switch the Firefox output on the earphones using Pavucontrol. But its annoying to do that every Firefox at start. MPV outputs sound on the earphone automatically. Before the update Firefox worked like MPV.
I use Tint2 status bar with bspwm on top of Xfce The problem sometimes is the Tint2 bar stays on top of everything even the fullscreen video or image. It can happen after a sleep/wakeup and today it happenned at startup. I can't identify the moment where the order mess is Notice there is no problem with the Xfce bar.
Is a Xorg experienced user can share a hack to force Tint2 to stay behind ? The other bars, such as polybar, are much more complicated to setup, and not much more featured, the Xfce bar has an unreadable workspace selector, so I try to save Tint2.
Let's say I want to create an app that works on every Wayland window manager, like an app tested on a single Xorg DE will works on any other Xorg DE. Should I worry about Mutter, Kwin and Wlroots implementations ? What guideline I have to comply with ?
Hello. This sxhkd shortcut has different implication depending on the app.
super + {_,shift + }x bspc node -{c,k}
On inkscape if a project has not saved changes a windows asks for saving or returning in the app. On the Godot engine the window brutally closes and the changes was lost. This is annoying because I can close the editor by mistake when I want to close a window on its side. This was happed two times today and I will becomes mad. On Xfce the window cross button make the dialog box, similar to Inkscape, appearing on Godot, no brutal closing. So what happened ?
Hello, I tried this I added '$Label.text = str(OS.screen_orientation)' in _process function I set my Android phone to allow orientation detection. I export the game. I run the game then I move the phone to landscape orientation. The label always prints "1"
I just need to detect the orientation so my game can adapt. Advices are welcome.
When I restart bspwm (Super + Alt + r in the default sxhkd ) Tint2 is on top of everything even the web fullscreen video. Notice it is only after a restart, the first start is OK. It is annoying because I can't change the background image without exiting to the display manager and log again.
