“[guest] was clean and tidy however various house rules were not observed and general arrival information / house amenities were clearly not read. The house was repeatedly left unlocked despite me reminding them of the need to properly close and lock the front door.”
Also asked them more than once not to run the dishwasher because I generally prefer to make sure it is properly stacked (and full). They clearly did not know how a dishwasher works but ran it all the same. Oh - dishwasher is now leaking (never has before) but I can’t definitively prove this was because of guest…
On a related note to this stay… do you explicitly state in your house rules not to use the toile
So… I’ve been hosting 2 rooms in my house for a year and my two current bookings have been such that for the first time I will be reviewing both of them with “would not recommend”.
Reasons are varied and multiple for both bookings. I’ve had people that have caused me issues before but not to the extent of these current bookings.
I’m just wondering what consequences, if any, you’ve had when taking this action - which I presume is somewhat going to kill their future abilities to book on Airbnb?
Does anybody have experience with a shortening of a stay on the discount calculation?
For background, I have a guest who booked for 7 days and got a 10% discount but now says they are leaving a day early.
I don’t actually need to give a refund because the booking rules were firm (or ‘Korean’, for an added complication) but if I did allow it, does anyone have experience, ie will the platform undo the 10% weekly discount when taking a night off? TIA
I started hosting this year and I took out home and contents insurance before starting that specifically covered me hosting via platforms - availability of coverage covering this is very limited.
The insurance itself is pretty expensive at around 3 times my previous insurance home and contents insurance. And it also comes with restrictions including numbers of guests and what happens if I am away for more than 24 hours from my home and a guest caused event happens.
So I am wondering whether AirCover itself is good and my new coverage is worthwhile?
So I am wondering what others experience with AirCover has been?
