How do I go about playing a firstborn Deathwatch army? You see, I’ve been really wanting to try and play a firstborn only army, because I don’t like Primaris as much as Firstborn. But is that even possible with Deathwatch?

Right now, pretty much Firstborn units that are still in the game (non-legends), that being Tactical Squads, Devastator Squads, Scouts, etc. are all not allowed to be taken in Deathwatch. (Which is kind of funny to me. Considering out of all space marine chapters that should be filled up with firstborn, you would think it should be the deathwatch.)

Now yes, we do have the Deathwatch Veterans, which is a Firstborn unit, but it’s pretty much our only Firstborn unit. For as

Alright, since everything that we can possibly know about the new deathwatch kit is out. I think it’s finally time I give out my opinions on the kit and why personality, I dislike it. I’ll try and keep it as professional as possible, but sometimes to truly express how I feel, some unprofessional language might bleed through. And this is all just my opinion, if you disagree with it, then that is ok. Let’s just make sure to keep the discussions between our disagreements civilized.

First, I would like to point out on the things the new kit does right, which isn’t much. I do like the new weapon it gives us, that being the new heavy bolt rifle with grenade launcher, which I think is neat. I also

This is something that I picked up on with the release of the rule of the new kill team (both in kill team and Warhammer 40K). That being that all of the sudden, Sergeants are allowed to use the Xenophase blade anymore.

The Xenophase blade has always been portrayed as the melee weapon of the Watch Sergeant, and because of that I always envision a Deathwatch Sergeant with it. But lately, for now they not allowed to use it anymore?

It was first shown with the reveal of the kill team rules of the new kit, where the Xenophase blade was locked to the Blademaster operative, who isn’t a leader operative. While the actual Watch Sergeant is now stuck with a generic power sword.

While I did find it

So they finally released the datasheet for the new deathwatch kit, and oh boy is it a mess. It’s so bad, that even just looking at it, hurts my brain.

I will say, I was kind of expecting the datasheet to be a mess, just from taking into account both the kit itself and the rules for the kit in kill team. But just seeing how bad it is, makes me honestly just want to give up.

I was already not thinking too positively for deathwatch. From their removal as a faction, to their new kit which I personally think is a downgrade over the original veterans, and now the datasheet for said kit being a mess. It hurts even more knowing that this kit and this datasheet is what is going to be replacing the

(Yes, I’m pretty late to the party, I just wanted some time to think about it before stating my opinion)

So, GW revealed the sprues, for the new Deathwatch Veterans, and honestly? Kind of disappointed.

Now again, in terms of the look of the marines, I think they look fine, they work well as a replacement for the old veterans. Plus, they still have us some really cool parts, one of the best ones being the new Lamenters shoulder pad. Having the checkered pattern be sculpted on, is such a gift from The Emperor, and I’m glad I’m not gonna have to deal with the Free-handing of their symbol. But still, for the most part with the things that come in the kit? It’s honestly lacking to me in some w

So given the new Deathwatch Veterans were revealed to be Primaris, one of the many questions that has popped into my head is, How will Rhinos and Razorbacks now work with the Deathwatch?

You see, currently Rhinos and Razorbacks can cannot transport any Primaris, the only units (in core codex space marines) that they can carry, are Tactical Squads, Devastator Squads, and Scout Squads.

Now as we all know, those units aren’t allowed to be brought with the Deathwatch. But that was never an issue, because we had the Deathwatch Veterans, who were still Firstborn space marines.

But now that they are made into Primaris, it now brings in a “technical error” with the rules. That error being, desp

So my honest thoughts about the new deathwatch veterans.

First thing to get out of the way, I like them. They are good, and trust me I was expecting much, MUCH worse. But I also feel like they aren’t the best.

It’s kinda hard to describe, but it feels like they could’ve done more with them. It feels like they’re missing a few more things. They feel more like a tasting, than the full dessert.

They definitely have enough character to them, so that they aren’t just “generic bland primaris marine”, and that’s honestly what I was expecting them to do with the deathwatch veterans. Luckily they didn’t get the “blood angels” treatment, but it also feels like as if they didn’t wanna try out “too

So I recently learned, that Tzaangors are actually a sub-species of Beastmen. That made start wondering, if that could mean, are there any Tzaangors out there that aren’t chaos aligned or maybe even loyalist? I’m know some basics of the lore, and once I learned this fact, I just became interested.

I’m probably gonna sound like a total schizo here, but I don’t want them to update the deathwatch models any more. Now you might be thinking wtf, why don’t you want GW to update the deathwatch models? It’s mainly out of fear of how much they are going to ruin the kits when update them

As an example, the deathwatch veterans kit is what I would consider, one of the best space marine kits out there. It has lots of weapon options, cool and unique bits and pieces for you to take, it's just an awesome kit overall, even for non deathwatch players.

But if they ever were to update them, I fear how much GW is going to take away from them. Yes, they would be updated to be true scale by space marines
