I currently have a small claims case awaiting a hearing date against a limited company motor dealer (value of claim £1,200) and a named director. The company failed to respond at the mediation stage. I'm seeing evidence that the sole director may be winding up the company. By the time the case reaches a hearing the company may no longer exist. Is there anything that I can do to have a possibility of recovering the money that I'm claiming?

I have tried to go through the verification process many times. The app process stalls at the stage where it tries to read the machine-readable code on my UK passport. The code is clear, well lit and properly framed. In addition, I brace my phone carefully so that there is absolutely no movement. All to no avail - I am repeatedly instructed to hold the phone steady and try again. I eventually give up, request a manual review. That doesn't happen, and (some time later) I get another reminder email from W to join up and I try again. I don't think I have ever had so much trouble with trying to sign up to anything before. I'm totally aligned with the concept of W, but if it's this difficult to s

We live on a small, private and unadopted access road in England.

There are five dwellings on the road. All the houses have off-road parking. If a vehicle is parked on the access road, it makes it difficult for residents to manoeuvrer onto and off their drives. Visitors are required to park on nearby, adopted roads.

One of the properties is owned by an elderly couple – let’s call the Jack and Jill. It has a relatively small single garage, which was used to house a motorbike trike. This trike was Jacks’s pride and joy. Because of that, for a period of time, we have allowed Jack to park his SUV alongside his house on the access road. Providing that he positioned it correctly, we could just a

My family is running two C1s and Fiat Panda (all petrol and high miles) and I use the same oil spec in all three (5w40). Because of this, I buy engine oil in 20 litre drums and have just hit the end of my current one (Mannol). Due to the antics of the Orange One, engine oil prices have shot up over the last twelve months. Have trawled around and found the Midland Oil Group shipping their Varsynth Ultra 5w40 C3 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil - 20 litres for GBP 65 (Ebay). Downloaded their technical data sheet, and it looks comparable to my other usual choices (Westway and Mannol). Wouldn't necessarily put it in a high performance car, but for old ones that are well north of 150,000 miles, it loo

Okay, another question for The Hive Mind. I'm up to about 250 miles on my GT 650, and I've had the engine cut out on me a couple of times. First time caught me by surprise, but I was ready for it the second time. Running down about a long 10% gradient and rolled off the throttle to use engine braking. Engine just died. On three blobs of fuel, but I'm mindful that the Conti has a significant dead volume in a fairly small tank. I'm wondering if the engine braking effect is throwing the remaining fuel forward in the tank and causing transitory fuel starvation. The bike restarts without any problems. I'm also aware that the fuel gauge is not to be relied on (my CBR250R is similar in this respect

I've just taken delivery of a Conti GT 650 and have done about 30 miles on it so far. Just rang the two nearest Royal Enfield dealers to check the diary and cost for the first (300-mile) service. One just didn't answer the phone and the other has just quoted me 14th October. We didn't get as far as discussing the cost because I was rolling around on the floor laughing.

Royal Enfield (RE) stipulate that you MUST have the bike serviced by an RE accredited dealer to maintain the warranty. As far as I'm concerned, a two-month wait for what is basically an oil-change is not viable if they are serious about the UK market.

Is anybody else finding this or are they just picking on me?

Okay, a question for the Hive MInd. I'm getting conflicting messages about the mileage for the first service. The RE documentation shows it as 300 miles, but the supplying dealer is telling me 600. Has anybody else bought a GT650 recently and hit this?

Quick intro. Ron is a UK 2008 C1 Vibe and has just gone through 200k miles. He's taken me all over Europe, from the most northerly point in Norway down to Gibraltar. Lots of practical upgrades, don't tend to major too much on the cosmetic stuff. The peeling lacquer gets sanded and blown over occasionally. Just in case you are wondering about the 'BLOOD' stickers; I'm a Blood Biker, and it was too icy to risk taking a bike out that particular day ;-)
