I'm in New Zealand and the sole caregiver for my 91 year old father who has dementia symptoms. My mother is in resthome care that is slowly draining all my assets.

I'll do anything for either, but I am feeling the sacrifice is too much sometimes. I have no support network to help out and dad gets angry and refuses social service help. He also yells and insults my interests and never asks how I am.

I have no social circle or romantic prospects and my health is bad--I just recently recovered from a potentially catastrophic medical condition.

I feel as if I'm only still alive for them or I'd have ofed myself somehow.

I can't even deal with the Gaza situation right now.

I'm both ashamed of Israel using the tragedy to commit war crimes and feeling really unsafe by the amount of antisemitism resulting from it.

Walking through the CBD on Saturday and some of the pro-Palestine march slogans made me feel unsafe as a secular Jew to the point I feel it's safer to deny my ethnicity.

Not all Jews support Israel unconditionally. Let's not let an incredibly complex situation give rise to bigotry and hate.

I'm depressed and lonely normally, but with the holidays and having no family nearby it always pushes me to the edge on my darkest 'nobody cares about me thoughts.

I'm 40, not very attractive and have a borderline Aspie personality and haven't dated anyone in 10 years.

The only people I talks with are drinking buddies on a Friday, and they're not the type nor is it the situation that they want to hear me open up about my problems. I feel a loser among most people because my depression makes me feel an underachiever next to them so I either avoid talking about it or just lie to fit in about my status.

To be honest I doubt anyone would even care if I died, and I base this on the evidence t

It's an English hymn taken from a William Blake poem and is considered a bastion of English patriotism, they sing it at soccer games.

Surely a born and bred Irishman like Miles wouldn't consider it part of his culture the way Bashir did, and yet he belted it out like an old favorite drinking song in Explorers.

This strikes me odd like if Bashir had sung Cockles and Mussels.

Presuming they actually ended up controlling the Prime Universe Alpha Quadrant and they ended up knowing about the Mirror Universe do you think their ambition for complete control would extend to going there and conquering the same quadrant in multiple dimensions.

A) the Mirror Universe was accessible via the Bajoran Wormhole and there must be Federation reports on it they would learn of it and

B) given the Dominion claims they think of things in ways non-changelings do does that mean they would try and conquer multiple dimsensions by thinking fourth dimensionally?

Granted the Romulans were as they are wont to do determined to remain neutral and see how the politics played out and the Klingons were in a hot-war again, but why was it that the Federation didn't reach out to others? The Ferenghi we know had the ships and were at least friendly by then or why not make more efforts to bring the Tholians, Son'a or Orions on board? Or even lure the other Beta Quadrant powers like the Gorn into it?

Afterall the fate of the fate of the Alpha Quadrant and Dominion rule effects them all beyond whether the Federation crumbles.

I'm 37, my life is a giant mess. I'm alone, incapable of maintaining a regular connection to anyone in the world friends or romantically- people tell me I'm unpleasant to be around and exclude me. I've been depressed for a decade and have ASD, and it never gets better , just worse and now I cope with the self-loathing via drinking heavily and hitting myself. Why even keep going? That's mostly rhetorical, but I honestly don't think one person in the world would even notice or care if I was gone. I figure if I eat enough painkillers my liver will go necrotic and I just won't wake up.
