For the purposes of this quiz veg=any edible plant.

My votes:

Top 3:

Cabbage (fermented, stewed, fried with spices, fried with noodles, plain old boiled, perfect accompaniment to virtually any meal)

Cucumber (pickled, fermented, fresh, a beautiful juxtaposition when mixed amongst hotter or heavier dishes, slip a slice in to a jug of water and watch the water improve)

Aubergine (food. of. the. gods.)

Bottom 3:

Kale (too tough and not enough flavour to be worth the effort)

Spinach (bland when raw, horrible combination of soggy and stringy when cooked)

Lettuce (literally tastes of absolutely nothing)

Now you.

Hi, perhaps I haven't tried looking hard enough, but I haven't yet found a Christian response to the Islamic notions of Tawhid and shirk. For me this is a really fundamental theological concern and one in which the Islamic position seems to make so much more sense than the Christian one. What are your beliefs as they relate to this issue, or are you aware of any Christian apologists/theologians who have addressed it? I'm aware of the Christian position, but I suppose I'm looking for more of a serious defense of it rather than a description, but I'm also looking to listen rather than argue, hence posting here.

Where do I go from there? Already seen all of Cocteau's stuff which is the closest to Demy's work I've seen, I think. Doesn't need to necessarily be especially Demy-like, but something in particular I really appreciate about his work is how he doesn't shy away from how difficult life can be and yet there's a resounding tone of optimism and perseverance without feeling at all contrived.
