Last night, my Next Door Neighbour. Died. I’m 22 y/o, she was 72 but she was a good friend.

We didn’t meet up and go shopping together, nor did we pop round each other’s houses for a chit chat - but every time we passed we would say “hi” and have a quick chat if time allowed us to.

She was so damn kind. She offered me her driveway during the Pandemic as she didn’t need her car and it was hard for me to find parking after work sometimes.

Every Christmas I would pop round and give her a Christmas card.

She would always take in our parcels. Without fail, without complaint.

This is a random question to ask but I can't find an answer on the internet anywhere. I've noticed a lot of Police Officers on TV shows wear 'Straw Protectors' on the end of their radios.

Is there a reason for this or is it just to spice up their look whilst on duty?
