Title is because I've talked about this many times before. I've brought it up on social media, and even in person to people that work for or with WotC, hoping that someone somewhere will be able to talk some sense to the people that make decisions. I have mostly given up. Every interaction I have with WotC fills me only with disappointment (both on this point and others). With the failure of Sigil, I'm going to try one last time, fully aware that all my efforts are in vain.

WotC: If you want to make money off of D&D, provide an API through D&D Beyond.

Why? It turns D&D Beyond into the central database and source of truth for the entire ecosystem, and lets 3rd parties add value to the p

I'm very disappointed this feature still exists in its current state in the new UA. Bumping it up to 7th level does nothing to prevent it from breaking the game as its worst effects are at higher level.

The issue with Aura of Protection is that it provides a flat +3-6 (now up to +7) to all saves, this basically mimics proficiency in those saves but additionally stacks with it. It makes it so that having a paladin and managing their position becomes an essential part of higher level combat. Having a paladin vs not having a paladin is a completely different game in T3 & T4, and the tuning of a lot of more modern adventures and monsters has to be built around the idea that everyone in the

In the OneD&D playtest video Crawford talked a lot about wanting players to be able to "make the dwarfiest dwarf" if they wanted, but obviously some features are a bit stronger than others (example: Winged Tieflings from SCAG). I'm really hoping that they handle this by having a core set of Level 1 racial feats (1-2 per PHB race) that let you pick up some of the more mechanical racial options for those times when you really want to go all in on embracing your lineage.

Likewise, I think it would be a great way to add setting flavor to the core races. You have setting specific feats already, but if a setting has notably different versions of certain core races you don't necessarily always

Since we're doing PSA's right now, here's one that I'm constantly trying to clue people in to.

All of this content is published under the Adventurers League program. It's a truism for those of us that play AL that WotC has no idea what they are doing with the program - one of the several way this is expressed is that they publish a whole lot of high level content, much of it expanding the storylines of the hardcover adventures, and do not advertise it at all. This material is generally easy to adapt or mine for ideas if you want to expand on the content of a hardcover adventure, or you can just run them as-is since most of them feature a stand-alone storyline. Just ignore the bits at the f

Anyone know if there is any rulings on this on Facebook or elsewhere that is not the FAQ? Specifically I'm wondering about the following:

Spells or affects that create items can only create items that are otherwise available for purchase.

This is from the FAQ - what I'm trying to figure out is if this is intended to be more of a whitelist or a blacklist. For example, there are items defined in the DMG which are not available to purchase in AL - obviously those are not allowed by this rule. However, I'm curious if this further limits it to not being able to replicate objects which are not defined items (such as, for example, a wooden box). Various objects are not defined items in game t

I got to play a preview of the new Salt Marsh book at Garycon and one thing Chris Lindsey mentioned that stuck out to me was that the presence of bonus objectives in the book. Chris mentioned that he'd run a bonus objective for us and wouldn't be running it in future games because it took too long (I was in the first game he ran). I'm not sure if this was a bonus objective in the AL-module sense, but I definitely got the impression that it was. Likewise, for a game that ran 4 hours we only got 3 ACP & TCP, which makes me think main objective + 1 bonus objective.

I could be wrong but this definitely gave me the impression that the next book will have AL pacing built into it, probably add

These may have been brought up before on Facebook, I don't know as I don't use it.

Reading the 1.01 version of the renown document I see a few inconsistencies that could be fixed with some minor wording changes, specifically:

When a character starts a new adventure or hardcover chapter, they may select a single renown benefit granted by any rank they’ve earned. This benefit carries no cost or value, and items gained can’t be sold or traded and are removed if unused by the end of the adventure.

RAW this would allow a character to keep their renown reward past the end of an adventure so long as they used the item in some way (I think this is written with the assumption the item is a co

I just wanted to give a shoutout to, and thank you for AdventurersLeagueLog.com - the person that runs this has obviously put in a lot of effort to get things ready for Season 8 and basically taken all the work out of it for those of us that use the site.

I would encourage anyone that is using the site to send a donation their way, I'm sure even a tiny amount would be appreciated and hard work deserves to be rewarded: https://www.adventurersleaguelog.com/donate

Say you start off as a cleric of one god, but for character reasons switch to a different one at some point - is that possible? Likewise, if it is, what happens if the domains of your new god do not include the one you selected from your old one?
