I’ve been staying at my mom’s in southern NY state (25-30 miles outside of nyc) and feed two feral cats here daily. Some days they don’t show up and a raccoon and its skunk buddy do instead and eat, but today’s the first I’ve seen the wildlife pair in 3 days.

From a distance, it looked like a giant leaf was dangling from the raccoon’s mouth. When I stepped outside, I could hear it clanking as he/she moves.

It resembles this. About 3-4 inches in total and very weighty, but luckily it seems to only be hooked through its upper lip on one side and it’s able to move and eat perfectly fine.

There aren’t exactly a ton of details sadly, but Isabella Tellfer was on vacation, staying with cousins/friends. While out at night, Isabella got separated from her group. The last sighting of her is in the company of an unknown man who she presumably left with.

There are rumors circulating on Twitter that she’s been found but nobody has officially confirmed these sightings of her or, by seeing her face to face, that she her found is legitimate as of yet.

I’ve gotten involved with a group that primarily focuses on those with home insecurity in NY.

I have things like heavy carhatt hats & socks, as well as some hygienic products and non perishable foods, including power bars which were surprisingly $$ (which will be handed out in duffel or tote bags. I’m alway purchasing things for any potential pet.

Long post for detail because I recall a lot of the plot/specifics (or close to them) but it’s not the most unique script overall, so the minutia may help.

The wife is Asian white and the husband is black Asian.

This is going to be overly thorough/long because birds involve a ton of unknown-unknowns for us.

My so found a young pigeon (still has a tuft of feathers left on one leg) that couldn’t fly yesterday.

It’s black and her beak is a unique color, so she looks like she might be some special breed, but idk. I’m not good at birds. It just looks like, if this bird could talk, it would be like a high society British woman, twice divorced.

Anyway, we took her (Mrs. Featherbottom) in overnight, thinking she just temporarily stunned herself somehow because: stupid.

We tried to let her go today.

While she can fly a bit, she struggled to the degree that a feral cat in our yard was already eyeing

There’s a muted calico in our yard (mostly gray, with some peachy splotches) who isn’t a part of our normal feral crew. She’s young, likely under a year but not a kitten-kitten.

She may be feral but she ate like she was starving (a bunch of treats, a small can of wet food and a big bowl of dry...) despite being chunky, so we figured it wouldn’t hurt to put the word out just in case she’s an indoor escapee.

ETA: we’re working on trapping her either way to tnr if feral or keep safe until she’s claimed. Wish us luck!
