I'm seeing 2 bugs on the Windows client:

  1. Long delay in SMS messages making it to Windows desktop, or it would seem, but if you look at this screenshot:
    http://i.imgur.com/3PsdM9I.png
...you can see in the SMS list that the message has made it to Push Bullet and appears in the SMS list title (for #21212), but the fully body of the text still does not appear on the right hand side. (Well, I censored the name so the "proof" is no longer visible, but trust me, it is a different message).

  2. On my work PC, Push Bullet appears in the task manager, but there is no visible window on screen

Is there a good code snippet manager that has good search capabilities, VS integration, and most importantly: "cloud" support, so all my snippets are always available on all my machines?

Bonus points: I don't know if there's such a thing, but if any of them (or some other product) comes with any sort of a pre-existing "utility" code library, that would be a big bonus. (A totally random example would be a pre-existing function to convert an IEnumerable<dynamic> into a DataTable, but even far simpler things than that that you'd normally just google and copy/paste from StackOverflow, but having it in a library would be theoretically cheaper and better tested.)

I'm just starting to look into Dapper, what I really like from what I've seen so far is the simplicity compared to your typical fully featured ORM. However, while reading articles I constantly come across mention of various different Dapper extensions, in fact I even happened upon this list:

http://nugetmusthaves.com/Tag/Dapper

I have no idea how authoritative that list is, so what I'm hoping someone could help me with, is there some semi-authoritative place where one could find a trustworthy list of Dapper extensions that are most popular and worth investigating? Or, if you'd even like to share the extensions you prefer, that would be appreciated as well.

I'm hoping r/poker can help me with an internet argument: whether it is statistically preferable to go all-in pre-flop with pocket aces. For clarity, I'm talking specifically about going all-in and successfully managing to get at least one other player to call you (as opposed to subtler strategies to get others to put money in the pot rather than everyone folding to your all-in). Also, the question is with respect to playing many, many hands over time, not playing one tournament with your entire net worth on the line.

My thinking is that statistically, it is always desirable to try bring about the scenario where you go all-in with as many people calling you as possible, over the lon

UPDATE: I'm now 95% certain it is firefox.exe running out of virtual memory (vs working set) - don't know how to solve it though.

I have 10GB physical RAM in my system, and virtual memory configured for 9GB minimum, 14GB maximum.

I am constantly plagued with "out of memory" warnings which I typically ignore, but eventually it will get bad enough and Windows will ungracefully terminate and application, or Firefox will crash on its own. If I pull up task manager and check memory usage when this occurs, I am always in the neighborhood of 10GB.

To me this implies either:
a) Windows is completely ignoring the configured virtual memory
b) The error is actually from a single 32 bit ap

Just saw a brief demo of some dashboards running in Splunk today and thought it looked pretty slick. I'm wondering, is it reasonably practical to use Splunk for doing centralized KPI dashboard reporting of data stored in multiple SQL databases? (To be clear: I'm talking about reporting on the data stored within the databases, as opposed to statistics on server health & activity, etc)

EDIT: Also, I've installed the Plunk Enterprise trial and am trying to figure out how to get it to start indexing a SQL Server database....from the reading I've done so far, it seems you have to write a script to extract from the database and write to a file, which is then indexed by Splunk, is that co

I have a "wish list" requirement to write an Excel AddIn that will be running queries against a SQL Server database and placing the results into an Excel table. I'll need a basic "userform" with some UI elements where the user enters criteria and then executes the query and the results are placed in the Excel file.

I've started to look into this a few times in the past and as I recall, each time I found that there are 2 or 3 different "fundamental" approaches (ie: libraries or approaches one would base the work on).

So I guess my question is, has anyone here gone through this whole process before, tried the various approaches, and decided on the "best" approach, or at least has successful

Obviously the question is a bit tongue in cheek, but I almost don't even bother to try any more, I just right click and "Open Link in Chrome". Chrome can always play videos, Firefox can almost never play videos. I've attempted to solve this many different times with no success.

The most recent example:

http://streamable.com/init

THE VIDEO COULD NOT BE LOADED, EITHER BECAUSE THE SERVER OR NETWORK FAILED OR BECAUSE THE FORMAT IS NOT SUPPORTED.

The error varies quite a bit, this is just one example.

Is there a maybe Firefox plugin that can embed Chrome whenever there is a video?

I'm looking for something similar to a 1000W Gio Optimus http://www.giomotors.com/gioelectric/etoys/gio-electric-scooter-1000w-2.html, but a bit smaller and lighter, something that can carry a 150lb person an hour or two on flat land, and can climb mildly steep inclines. Not finding much on here, are there any enthusiast forums out there?
