Hey there! Im dipping into using my passion for the outdoors to practice my writing and social media skills (as a sort of portfoilo for perhaps a future career in writing and photography)- I'm focusing on vintage hunting, fishing, and outdoor books. Here's what I have so far (I dont get paid- not advertising):

What vintage outdoor books do you enjoy or remember reading? Im working on building myself a list of books to try to find and review.
Happy hunting PA
Just want to ask some questions! Please DM!
First OER as a 1LT- excels from rater but HQ from Senior Rator with very short comments that say "exemplified leadership and potential as a XO", "thrive given any duty position" and "keep challenging professionally, send to CCC and promote". No enumeration.
Im worried about that last part coming off as subpar- I worked really hard, especially for a TPU officer- but this makes me sound mediore?
Is this going to affect promotion for CPT or MAJ or eligibility for any volunteer mobilization opportunities or AGR application since most of them ask for last 2 OERs when applying?
Looking into what I could do if I returned to home state and I have some questions.... currently a LE Ranger in PA.
Any PA DCNR rangers have visible tattoos? Is this an issue or talked about in any policies?
I have a tattoo right above the back of my elbow that is visible if sleeves don't come to the elbow.. nothing offensive, but I'm worried this will be an issue. I'd be willing to wear a compression sleeve if that is allowed.
I've been riding a 2011 Trek Cyclocross that was a great first gravel type bike - but I recently got into gravel events, and the bike is becoming more of a maintenance issue than it is worth. I'm looking at these bikes:
- Lauf seigla (love the fork and value but worried about it being spongy on pavement since I do ride maybe 40%-50% pavement and it being unknown by any local bike mechanics/shops for service)
- Scott addict (seems to be hard to find) 3.Trek checkpoint (expensive, but trek shops everywhere for service)
- Specialized crux (expensive)
- Cannondale Topstone
- Canyon Grizl (hate the color options right now though)
-Price range 3k-4k USD -Wireless shifting preferred but
I am a lesbian and have a wife. I came out to my parents in 2020, it was a huge ordeal. They "disowned" me for some time before they agreed that they will only talk to me if they never have to talk about my relationship. They also told me I would never be allowed home to see my family if I tell my grandparents. I did not want to be kept from seeing my grandparents, especially since they are older and I only see them once every 1 or 2 years anyways. So now, three years later, I'm married and my grandparents have no idea about my marriage. I live over 1000 miles away from my family. My parents know about my marriage but refuse to acknowledge that part of my life. My brother also does not know
I have been on orders since July and will be until November.
My spouse just got news they will be getting a very substantial promotion, and we always discussed that as my trigger to resign and focus on my grad school and pursue a job in the field I'm passionate about.
Has anyone ever resigned and never returned to their job during orders? Was it seen as disrespectful or the same as not giving a two weeks notice? I don't want to burn a bridge because some of my coworkers are great people. Any advise??
I am a 25A that lives in PA. The 392nd ESB seems to be the closest signal unit to me, but I rarely see vacancies listed for their unit. Has anyone here been in the 392nd? Are there really never officer vacancies, or am I just not looking in the right place? Thanks!
