Hello,

My family is of French Canadian descent (I’m gen 4, gen 5, and gen 6 depending on which line you trace through 🤣) and my sister is working on applying now. She’s so excited I discovered this thread because she’s making real progress in getting the documents together, and this has the potential to be living full time in Canada sooner than the marriage track she was planning on before (her fiance is Canadian). But even with so few generations, it’s a LOT to stay on top of

Here is my question: if my sister succeeds with getting citizenship by descent, will it be any easier for my mom, grandma, or self to apply? They will already have all of the documents on file. Is there any avenue t

My husband (31 year old male with anorexia, OCD, and treatment resistant MDD) went to the psychiatrist Monday. He’s been on Seroquel since May 2025 and we haven’t noticed any clinical benefit. It causes pretty bad side effects, and most recently we found out his cholesterol had shot way up. It seemed like way more cons than pros, so the provider said to just get rid of it

He was on 150 mg and did not take it Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. He seems pretty clearly to be going into withdrawal. He looks pale and sick. He feels hot, he’s not feverish but looks and feels terrible. He’s nauseous and dealing with insomnia and his anxiety and depressive symptoms have been exacerbated.

My husband has OCD, anorexia nervosa, and MDD. He has failed with just about every med, to the point his psychiatric providers have used the words “difficult patient” and recommended higher in-office regimens for treatment resistant depression like TMS and Spravato.

He was in IOP following intense suicidal ideation and compulsions to do some scary things in Summer 2023 and that’s when he finally got the OCD diagnosis. He completed IOP following the hospitalization but never got follow up care. His restrictive eating got significantly worse during that period and he was diagnosed with AN in Summer 2024 and was in IOP July 2024-August 2025. He improved massively during ED treatment but we kne

My mom is obsessed with geneology and my family is heavily French Canadian. I have DNA evidence of my maternal line going back a long way. My mom has traced our geneology all the was back to the 1500s in France. My grandparents were of French Canadian descent and were tenth cousins (most Québécois are related because there were only but so many settlers lol). I can trace back my family being settlers of Quebec through both my maternal grandmother and maternal grandfather. My family lived in Canada for hundreds of years!

But what seems to be a problem is that my family left for America (on both sides) between 1860-1909. My understanding is that Canadian citizenship started in 1947. So does t

Good morning! I am not the TPM but I am a troop leader whose SSN is tied to our bank account and I just want to make sure I understand what is going on. I have attended several TPM virtual trainings but still don’t feel like I have clarity on how the finances of digital sales worked

Yesterday we picked up 180 boxes and sold 169 of them in a single day between a morning and afternoon booth. So I will obviously have a good chunk of cash in our bank account (over $1000) for when our first ACH pull happens on 2/16.

We are ordering more 384 more boxes to pick up tomorrow because we blew through our initial order so fast that we didn’t even fulfill our preorders 😅

We have a pretty substantial

My husband has been DMing a campaign for my 6.5 year old, 2-3 of her friends (usually just 2), me, and another dad. It has been going great and my kid is OBSESSED. She and her friends run off at the playground during recess to strategize what they’re going to do to complete their quest. It’s just so cute

She loves it so much that she wants a D&D birthday party and wants her dad to run a game. We don’t know what we’re going to do. The first session with our small group was ROUGH and I don’t want her birthday party to be like that again (trouble staying focused, not understanding how the game works, etc) but with 10 times the amount of clueless kids

I don’t anticipate there being many one of

I have a very specific request! My (pregnant) coworker loves the shrimp chips that come in a bag from the Asian market and I was telling her that fresh ones are so much better. She didn’t even know that was an option

I had a go to Vietnamese spot in Virginia that gave out free shrimp/crab puffy chips freshly made with a different chili sauces to dip them in before the meals came out. Do you know what I’m talking about? And where I could get some around here?

I used to spend a lot of time in the gym, and it made my husband with anorexia and OCD spiral. I was told time and time again not to change my behavior but the amount and severity of freakouts decreased my enjoyment of the gym and I started to go less and less

Eventually I stopped going to the gym altogether and it took a toll on my mental and physical health. I am a happier person when I get to move my body. So I’ve started to get back into it. I’m going far less than I used to, but as soon as I resumed so did his constant ruminating about what he should be doing. Not because he wants to. But because it’s like the moral/ethical/correct thing he must do and he’s a lazy bum if he doesn’t.

I have a 2025 Corolla LE and just hit 5000 miles. I called to make my 5k service appointment and the woman on the phone said that all they will be doing is a tire rotation. I thought sounded dumb and said I would like to add on an oil change. I understand that Toyota says it’s not “necessary” but oil is relatively cheap and I’d rather pay extra for an oil change at 5k and have extra peace of mind that I’m taking good care of my car. Our car does a lot of highway miles (went from 4600 to 5400 just yesterday 🤣) but does a fair bit of sitting in school pickup lines and doing trips under 5 miles. Am I crazy for wanting to err on the side of severe conditions??

I work at an inpatient mental health unit in the Jacksonville area. I have a patient who has Medicare and receives SSI and SSDI. But he weirdly has a payee through a Catholic Charities office out of state

He is chronically homeless and I desperately want to help him. On his last admission he really wanted to get housing figured out and we worked our butts off to make it happen. We found an independent living that would be willing to take him for a few weeks pro bono until he was able to get to the social security office and get his benefits transferred to a local payer. But I got a call a couple weeks later from the IL freaking out that the benefits never got transferred, he never got paid,
