Obscene amounts of death and suffering were caused by the systems both those symbols stand for. You're a hypocrite if you judge people for one but not the other.
From driving to guns to running a business, the people saying "there ought to be a law" are generally complete idiots when it comes to the subject matter they seek to regulate and have no clue about the scope of existing regulations on that subject.
The gf's 1st gen Legacy (EJ22, non-turbo) refused to start today (good thing there was another 1st gen Legacy around to drive instead). It cranks and fires like it wants to start but won't. When you take the key from start back to run the engine kicks back a little bit so if you lay on the starter during that brief time it makes an unpleasant noise and seems like it's trying to fire backwards. It I hadn't moved it earlier today I would say it has no compression because when it tries to start and sputters and tries to start like it has no compression. This and the way it sometimes kicks back like it's trying to rotate backwards makes me think valve timing (i.e. timing belt) is not right.
Does anyone know of resources describing things developers do that should be red flags for sysadmins/devops/$current_buzzword people?
Most everything I've found seems targeted toward people working in security or development roles. While the stuff written for security people is fine for me I haven't found anything that's written at a level where it would take less worth to be modified and handed to someone who does not natively speak English than it would to write from scratch.
Background info:
I'm on an ops team that acts as middle men for a lot of stuff in the organization. We are responsible for a bunch of hosts that run apps developed by app teams. Most of the team doesn't have
I need to cross reference some ball joints to check compatibility for an aftermarket application (fancy pants off road stuff, no it won't fit on your Jeep). The Napa website used to publish taper diameters and length but doesn't anymore.
Anyone know of another source for these specs?
